When I was 20 I got popped on a drug charge and my atty got me off under this new marijuana diversion program. We had to meet weekly. It was so new that it was mainly DUI convicts with me. Most of the movies were about drunk driving. One night they played Reefer Madness. I got up and walked out. The guy running the class came after me and explained if I did not watch it I would not complete requirements for probation so I went back in.

It was 20 years later it was a "cult classic."

when I was a kid, one of my step dad's cronies came over with his brother.... who was having a full blown psychotic episode... they had the poor fucker on the floor tied up with belts while he kicked and screamed waiting for the ambulance... my step daddy gave the poor fuck a shot of something, he was a Dr., to knock him out eventually... what happened was friends he had dinner with had cooked weed into the food, but neglected to tell him... so I wouldn't really say weed is that fucking harmless all the time :2 cents:

Its understandable, Marijuana is a very good and easygoing substance for the person who knows how to handle it, as friendly as it is, some people just dont have the right mindset to do anything not even alcohol

When you're sitting around having dinner at a family gathering, we could have all just as easily been having a joint after dinner, as opposed to wine. The powers that be chose liquor as the "good stimulant" and weed has been marked as evil -- because it comes from mother Earth? Figure that one out.

i'd say that has little to do with weed and more to do with not knowing it was in there..imagine if you never smoke and then get high without knowing anything...you'd think you've gone crazy.

i don't think weed is totally harmless though, it all depends on the person. it can cause cardiac problems as well as worsen mental health problems in some. i knew one guy who would hear voices and imagine people said things when they didn't when he smoked but he had mental problems to begin with. he was gonna kick my ass one day for something he imagined i said..

Would I have to be tied down and have a psychotic reaction? No. And neither would most folks.

And if somebody had fed me some baked goodies with the "old" much, much weaker than today's pot...I would have probably just giggled a little and then fell asleep.

I know that all of you streetwise webmasters know everything...but my first thought from reading what Grapesoda said was the the guy had some kind of allergic reaction or something.

Pot just doesn't have that kind of effect on people as a drug.

It would be like if you told me that somebody dosed someone with speed and they reacted by falling asleep.

In other words...a violent psychotic reaction is the exact opposite of marijuana. Unless the guy had some kind of crazy allergic reaction.
I've seen people allergic to peanuts eat something with peanuts in it unknowingly and end up on the ground frothing at the mouth and almost die. So maybe that is what happened with the pot and that guy.

Or maybe the guys physiology is just very unique and he just can't handle pot. That's why I laughed and said he better never try to really party. Hard whiskey might kill him.

The CIA experimented with this back in the 50's except they were giving unwitting subjects LSD. One case a CIA employee gave another CIA employee a dose of LSD without him knowing and the dude thought he lost his mind and committed suicide. It became known as MKUltra and they did some real fucked up shit to mental patients, prisoners, prostitutes, etc.

yeah, my dad was dosed with acid at a party once. had a total freakout.

I got dosed unknowingly with acid a few times (playing in bands at clubs 7 nights a week back in the day).

But I knew what acid felt like because I had done it before. So the minute I felt my lower spine start to tingle and go a little numb and felt that unexplained euphoric feeling...I knew what it was and went with the flow.

But if I had never done it before and didn't know what was happening I could have panicked. And once you start panicking you are screwed...even if you aren't high a panic attack can cause you have trouble breathing and have heart palpitations.

Panic attacks happen to millions of people. And if a person were to be scared and start having a panic attack then yeah...they would be in a lot of trouble.

But then again, we're all discussing people getting "dosed" which is NOT cool and doesn't really have anything to do with people smoking pot to get high and enjoy life. :)

Prescription painkillers is the gateway to heroin because it's way cheaper and has the same kinds of effects. :2 cents:

Prescription painkillers and sleeping pills are more dangerous than heroin.

Quick google of stats on deaths every year from prescription drugs shows you real quick that more people die from overdosing on them every year than ALL recreational drugs combined. :(
