The title is a bit missleading. For example I haven't been voluteered to die in anywhere. Now the title suggests that they go to Mars and die shortly after.

Those people are volunteered to go to Mars and to stay there (populate). Dying is just the same outcome than it would be around here on Earth.

i was making simple example about that YOU open the tread cuz it says DIE also on the blog that people are more interested if they "die" then colonize the planet, just my opinion

all the people are just lazy and dont want to work anywhere, if they will stay on planet earth, they will be some flower people travelling around the planet, working short time on some kind of voluntary job thinking how succesful they are ... not telling their life is bad, just saying, bye and enjoy, friends from planet mars! :1orglaugh

We are animals. This "experiment" will prove exactly that. Lord of the Flies on Mars. We are brainless chimps. Jealousy, mental illness, tribal behaviors, stress, paranoia etc etc etc.. All that will be left less than 10 years later, assuming they survive impact and getting set up will be nothing but skeletons with cracked skulls and a final, larger skeleton dead, sitting upright in a throne-like chair.

If I got to be one of the first people to arrive on Mars in a colony ship, you can be damn sure I would include sex in my celebration. I'd wonder about anyone who said they wouldn't.

They will send a first group there and then more will be sent. It's not a send them to the little space capsule and see what happens 20 years later. They will send a first group to see if humans can actually survive and thrive then more people will be sent assuming it's all a go.

Thanks for that. It really puts things into perspective when it's coming from GFY's brightest ray of sunshine and joy who spends his days sharing his seemingly endless bounty of good cheer, laughter and happiness.

To be honest, i find myself a bit ashamed now.

I don't think it would be that bad, the people they select won't be the brainless chimps of GFY, they'll be gone over psychologically and physically with a fine tooth comb many times. I'm sure some will succumb to the stress but most will do what they were sent to do and die stoically.

Now if they had only GFY to choose from, that rocket ship isn't even getting off the launch pad - the sound of crying would drown out the rocket engine, the smell of shit being thrown against the walls and deposited in their spacesuits ..........

You don't have to go to Mars for that.

I guess that some plants, etc. will be sent too. Maybe they will whack the settlers before they get whacked. Or is that too plantistic?
