You can get a whole pot of coffee cheap rather than getting ripped off at Starbucks. It's portable so you can carry it around with you and drink at your leisure instead of being stuck with a one use cup. You can make nice brews at home with your own grinds instead of drinking crap fast food coffee, etc

Also maybe he spiked it with kahlua or Bailey's at home.

I personally cant stand coffee. Tastes like hot dog shit.

The coffee I make at home is much better than most coffee shops.

Although I will admit there are a handful of cafe's around that make an excellent cup. Unfortunately none of them are conveniently close. Starbucks is shit coffee.

If I needed to go to work outside my home I would seriously consider a thermos.

Plus you save time of going to the shop, waiting in line. It is important if yo uare on a break (like the pic may suggest).

Love, I know that, just a good illustration of what I saw in the US when I lived there. I worked in Brooklyn and NEVER did that "thing" while tons of other people did, tell me they were saving for the next big american thing.

If you only get a 30 minute lunch break you're pretty much forced to bring your own lunch to work.

Yeah, you will save $1-$2k per year and pay for it with your health. Eating like that (as we say "всухомятку") is a straight way to gastritis and obesity. Hot soup, salad and second course is the necessary minimum for a dinner.

That's true. Actually the things didn't change here since then. Even a poor student prefer to eat in cafe. Health is not something to can save money at :2 cents:

2 completely opposite opinions. One says it is much healthier to bring your own handpicked food, another says - its is unhealthy.

I am with BC on this one - you can bring quality handpicked food for yourself.

In accordance with the Labour Code, we have a hour for that here. The same a in Soviet times.

If you can bring hot soup / pelmeni, fresh salad, the second course (say pasta with a chicken / kasha / patoes / etc) + hot tea/coffee, then of course it's healthy and you are ok with that. But I doubt any sane person would bring so many dishes to his work :)

Every single thing you showed can easily be put in a plastic container and taken to work. It won't look as good but food to go never does.
