I didn't even bother to watch the video. My point isn't right/wrong legal/illegal it's surviving a confrontation with a cop. That's always my point. Survive the confrontation, live to protest another day.

I don't disagree that she should have stfu, it is however interesting to read up on why they get the K-9 unit and how they are way over stepping the reason they were setup in the first place (internal border patrols).

Because you said provoking a cop is exactly the same thing as resisting, but the reality is one is protected by the 1st Amendment while the other is a crime. I find it truly amazing that people are so willing to criticize those who will stand up for their Constitutional Rights and expose overzealous govt agents.

I would guess that all parties were wrong based on the video. She got stopped for some reason, then started being a twat and it went from there. But the article is obviously very slanted and one sided. No one knows what happened BEFORE it all started and when you see a super arrogant "fuck you, i don't have to do anything you say" person, it is not a stretch to imagine that started asking her simple questions for whatever reason and she started in with the attitude and it escalated. Obviously LEO's should be acting professionally, responsible and so on... but people should also understand that its a two way street. You don't get to act how you want, be a shit head, argue, be combative etc. and not expect things to go wrong. I have had my car searched a few times going to and from Canada. No point in arguing.. just let them do their jobs and go on your way. If you have a problem, you deal with it AFTER the fact, not DURING.

The article is slanted yes, what is interesting is that it points out that these internal border patrols are setup to ascertain whether a person is in the country legally, nothing more ie identify the person and let them go. Now they seem to just do whatever they like with any old loop hole they can lay their hands on (ie K-9 unit called in to enable them to search the car).

Again, I completely agree she went about it in the wrong way. The interesting part for me was the abuse of power these internal border patrols are getting away with - clambering for more and more invasive laws through whatever means.

I find those people who think that the woman was wrong for not complying with unlawful orders to be just bizarre to me. If everyone simply complies with unlawful orders then they will continue and increase. The ONLY way to push back against police abusing their power is to resist it, without violence.

I'm pretty willing to bet that those same people would have advised co-operation with the Nazi's in their day also.
