New Google Logo - Why?
 

Not that I'm paranoid or anything but why is Google rolling out a new logo? Looks like crayons or a kids version of Google. You don't fuck with a huge brand like this, do you?

They employ the best talents in the world and I m sure at such a position its impossible to do a mistake. I like the new logo.

I haven't read anything yet, but I'm guessing it's because of Alphabet/abc.xyz and having things look like preschool letter blocks..

I don't love it, I don't hate it. It's sort of 'meh' to me. When they modernized the logo by replacing their mark with flat colors a couple years ago, I thought they were gonna stick with that for some time to come. I guess not. I'm not a huge fan of the colorful G or the colorful microphone icon either.. I prefered a single color for the G and a the current monochrome neutral color of the mic.

Oh well, I don't mind the change. The typeface is a bit plain to me but I still think it's fine overall.

Without reading into it yet, it might have something to do with the fact that most schools are starting this week.

I did some reading. I was wrong!

It's a transitional logo. The final new logo looks very clean. They have been on a massive (re)design roll lately.

Google is making bold moves on many fronts, I expect them to take their online domination to the next level.

The reason it looks more child like is simpe: The more evil they become, the more innocent they want to look to the public

Plus the designers (i'm sure it's a huge team) stole the 'happy e' that Heineken came up with decades ago.

corporations are made of people, and people do make mistakes, some corporations fuck up and goes out of business, while others fuck up and learn from their mistakes , fixes them and move on .

The name is stronger than the logo so it doesn’t make any difference. Anyway, Google is not going to win a logo design award anytime soon.

It looks retro. I like it. The import thing is that the search page isn't busy. That is what I don't like about bing and yahoo.

I don't want to know about the Duggars or Kardashians, but I see short headlines along the bottom of the search engine screens. Those headlines give me more information than I want in my head. I wish I never knew about Kanye West or any of that.
