Long time board member is a thief, beware.

A long time member here has turned out to be a flat out thief. I posted on here back in May that I was looking for a partner for a profitable venture and he responded. I checked him out as much as I could on the boards and spoke to him extensively multiple times before I decided to bring him into my business. He signed a very clear cut contract and seemed eager to get started. Fast forward five months later and he took it upon himself to clean out the bank account and intercept all remaining payments. He left me holding the bag, unable to pay our people for their work and of course, cheating me out of money I was owed.

I have given him until today to do the right thing. Crickets. He doesn't want to give back the money he stole so he is ignoring me.

It?s amazing how when people screw you over, they concoct various reasons in their twisted mind for doing so ? this is what he has done. I followed the terms of our contract TO THE LETTER and he was paid every dime he was owed. Then the greed set in . . . He and his wife are heavy boozers and druggies, both with criminal records. I?ve had to advance them money to get their gas turned back on several times and he didn?t have five dollars when we first started to pay for a minor expense. Most of the time we spoke he slurred his words so badly I could barely understand him and his wife was most definitely high on something. Her mug shots look like she?s got a bad meth problem.

I will post his name shortly if he does not come through, I will be very surprised if he does. Lesson learned : Never do business with desperate, broke substance abusers. They will screw you in the end for their short term gain.

Oh, and AntonMG, I asked the moderator to remove all of my posts which is why you are seeing what you so cleverly pointed out to everyone.

If only it was the only thing that sounded off with your post...
Like giving power to empty the bank account to a "heavy boozer and druggy", that you have "known" for only 5 months yet lend him money several times to pay his gas bill.

I have 5 bucks. Can I get my name added to your bank accounts?

patadeperro 11-04-2015 11:23 AM

In Business there are always some bad experiences, but without proof this is just plain gossipl, NEXT!!!

justme999 11-04-2015 11:23 AM

Yeah well, it sounds like you are saying I deserved that, but that's your opinion. I didn't know about this aspect until we were already working together. Has anyone ever represented themselves to you right out of the gate as a boozer and druggie?

Aside from not knowing that, why would you give bank login info to anyone? How was that even necessary?

No it's not gossip, it's a heads up for anyone on here that might fall victim.

"Most of the time we spoke he slurred his words so badly I could barely understand him and his wife was most definitely high on something."

This kind of contradicts your statement.

How can it possibly be a "heads up" if you are not naming him?

Gee you fucking think??????

And here's another lesson....

Don't do business with people who are so stupid that they share bank accounts with substance abusers.

Insane.

justme999 11-04-2015 11:36 AM

I will soon enough

What were you working on? It had incoming payments? It sounds like you did well creating the revenue for the business. How much are you saying he took? Did he add anything or was he totally useless?

mineistaken 11-04-2015 11:41 AM

cliff notes + post a nickname.

Horatio Caine 11-04-2015 11:41 AM

This interesting. I was supposed to tun some errands but those can wait. Please hurry up!
BTW, does this person have a helicopter or about to file IPO for his company?

Rob 11-04-2015 11:42 AM

Names or GTFO.

Sly 11-04-2015 11:42 AM

I choose to partner with this person because they talked a good game. Anyone else every been there? I have a signed contract. He was very believable. It doesn't really matter why, what matters is what he did which is very unethical, illegal and immoral. He doesn't care that he cheated people who worked hard out of money, he doesn't care about anything but his short term gain. I did not know about his substance abuse issues or inability to manage his life until I had been dealing with him for a while.

420 11-04-2015 11:54 AM

How much money did you lose?

justme999 11-04-2015 11:55 AM

He did some work, sloppy at best. He got paid every dime he was owed. He took money that didn't belong to him.

SpicyM 11-04-2015 11:57 AM

He took money out of your bank account, that's way more fucked up than a designer flaking or not being as good at what you agreed on as he said he was..

It sounds like a joint bank account with shared money.

Seriously consider the following simple advice:

- File a police report with your local authorities.
Look up '"larceny by conversion'" and see if this applies to your situation.

- You need to out this person, by member name and legal name.

- Be careful how you state your accusations, to protect yourself from being liable.

Drunk!? You just described about 25% of the people I meet at the trade conferences.

By any chance, is your former partner out of Arizona?

Good luck!

Horatio Caine 11-04-2015 12:25 PM

Ok, this ridiculous. At least give us some clues.
Does he play a guitar?
Is he in California?
Any tattoos?
