BUT...using "executive action" to bypass Congress and skirt the Constitution all over "Gun Show" loopholes is nothing but a dog and pony show.

Gang members in Chicago aren't going to get dressed up in normal clothing and wait around once a year to go to a gun show convention at a convention center or big hotel/casino to buy an overpriced gun!

Secondly...Obama himself actually admitted that the numbers for "Gun Violence" are bullshit. He actually had the balls to say the truth in his speech: 2/3's of ALL gun deaths are actually suicides.
And I can guarantee you that if a person wants to commit suicide...they will not wait for the one time a year that a gun show convention might come to town ("gun shows" are actually trade shows for guns...show floor, displays, seminars, etc.) and then go to the gun show to get the gun to kill themselves.

This whole thing is nothing more than a show. It accomplishes nothing for "safety". It deteriorates the Constitution and the very foundation of our country.

This was nothing more than another opportunity for people in Washington D.C. to pat themselves on the back and feel good about themselves while not actually accomplishing anything.

The Sandy Hook shooting was committed with guns purchased by a rich white woman, shooters mother, who would have passed any gun requirement test.

The daily Chicago shootings are from a state that had some of the strictest gun laws in the US. But they are street level shootings where black-market guns will always be available regardless of the law.

Below is the current ATF form which is filled out, called into the FBI before a gun is legally sold by any dealer. What more could you add to it ?????

As soon as the speech was over I was listening to CBS news on the radio while driving and the reporter covering it was about to cum on himself.
He reported it as "A remarkable moment. The President in tears with a copy of the bible in his hand turned to John 15:13...'No greater love has man'..."

So how do you rate his Presidency? Is that the legacy he has? Failing at cleaning up for Bush?

Not much of an achievement there. At least he will go down in history as the first black President. And that's a good thing.

He'll be remembered (by those who aren't ignorant) as :

- Killed Osama Bin-late-because-Bush-missed.
- Unprecedented health care reform (even if you don't like the plan)
- Reducing the American casualty rate in the mid east conflicts (some people are glad their daddy ain't dead)
- Saved the American auto industry
- Saved homes from foreclosure/predatory loans
- Kept the nation from collapsing after Bush

Just to name a few.

They hypocrisy of Obama is astounding. He demands background checks of others yet won't release his own college transcripts or passport records.

You mean the military happened to find him during his term in office? You make it sound like Obama hunted him down Rambo style.

I think we have to wait and see. At the moment Obama looks like a pretty average president. When he took office he was faced with a country stuck in wars we had been in for years and couldn't get out of and a collapsing economy. IMO he didn't do a great job in fixing the economy and did a slightly better job of getting us out of Iraq and Afghanistan (although we are heading back there now with ISIS which I think is a direct result of the invasion of Iraq).

What will define him him is Obamacare. If at some point in the future we end up with some kind of good, affordable, national healthcare or at least a system that works better and is more affordable than what we have today, he will likely be credited as the guy who got the ball rolling and people will look back on him fairly positively. If Obamacare ends up being a bloated mess that crashes and burns and has to be scrapped, it will tarnish him and he will likely be seen as the guy who forced through a healthcare plan in the middle of one of the worst recessions in history.

Well, to Obama's credit he gave the approval for us to fly into Pakistan and take Bin Laden out. He could have easily taken a different route that would have had much less risk, but potentially not the same results.

The odds are we knew where he was for a while and were waiting for the right moment to make the most political impact by sending in troops to take him out.

Don't forget though, the body was disposed of in secret and all the guys on the mission wound up dead shortly thereafter. If that doesn't sound suspicious I don't know what does.

The bloody bodies of children riddled with bullets isn't something to get teary over. Real men only please.

In the US, it's illegal for certain people to buy guns or certain types of guns. It's a rule that you have to play by. Loopholes lets certain people that should not have those guns, get those guns. Why should they be allowed to play on a different set of rules that you are not?

This has nothing to do with Gangs, Criminals or any Militia. It's about making sure children in schools, people at work, people driving their cars, are safer from nut cases who commit suicide by cop after killing as many other people as possible, or a road rage idiot who pulled a gun, or people too stupid to realise guns should be kept away from toddlers, or even their pet dog. In the case of an accident.

Lew abiding, sensible, careful and moderate people, like yourself, would soon pass any test to show that you are capable of keeping a gun or guns safe. you would never fly off in a rage because someone cut you up on the road.

Another measure to improve children's safety while at school would be to employ ex-military who have passed tests. To guard schools, all the costs to be raised by imposing a sales tax on firearms. I'm sure a reasonable person like yourself would welcome extra security for children, against nutcases and idiots who shouldn't have a gun, but do because it's their right.
