Pardon the flaming title - that was just to get maximum participation in this thread about a subject that has always intrigued me.
I have always wondered what really is the reason that citizens of western countries create all kinds of hurdles and barriers for well educated, well settled, westernized prospective immigrants while welcoming thugs/criminals/ Blatant fraudsters and utter sub human species in the name of refugees?
Why would we tell a smart, highly educated person that he needs to jump through a million hoops to be accepted for immigration and not provide him ANY help, whatsoever, while happily giving $$$$ to thugs and liars who obviously laugh at us and will never assimilate or absorb values of host nation?

What you see in the media does not reflect the view of most people though. Almost everyone here is against the floods, but you dont see it in the media. This distorted media view is being broadcasted in the US, Russia, Mid East, all over the world, so that makes you people think that the people here are all hippies who welcome them with open arms. Damn good question. I know a gal that has been here over 10 years legally, works upper management for a big company, but immigration, despite everyone working to get her visa renewed is deporting her.

In the mean time we are importing or allowing in 1000s of drains on the system. Makes no sense.

I can understand big corp agenda but only to a small extent. Sure every country needs cheap labour force but why not get it through legal means? It cant be that difficult for countries to have work permit quotas etc. for labour jobs.

I have lived and travelled in/to several countries. UK Belgium Italy France are no better nor are NZ and Australia. The situation was already grim to begin with but with this recent EU floodgates open wide for everyone it is going to get ugly.

One branch of my mother's family lives in Toronto now -- they emigrated after 1921. Canada was kind enough to accept them -- they came from Russia and later Argentina (c. 1970) -- neither country a part of The Commonwealth -- Canada needed them, Canada wanted people and labor.

The USA does not have an (legal) immigrant crisis. I was in France the past 2 years on vacation. In London (a Commonwealth Nation) 2014. As well as often in Amsterdam. Western Europe does have a large minority of immigrant citizens. Europe, notwithstanding Commonwealth UK immigration, does seem to have immigrant issues -- for a lot of different reasons. Immigration from former European Colonies is one. Turkish immigration to Germany after WW2 is another.

So maybe, the USA is not really part of the "Western" worlds as you are defining it. A lot of US Americans are making immigration a 'talking point problem' and I don't buy it at all.

Many of the immigrant Turkish guest workers now have children born in Germany and many have chosen German nationality and citizenship. It's only logical for them to want to help the current Syrian Muslim refugees as they share a common history. Much the same as many US Americans wanted the USA to be involved in WW2. Their countrymen from their original homelands were threatened by the Axis.

Canada has a large Muslim immigrant population, the Pakis being the most prolific -- they are a political force, I would assume, influencing government policy in Canada. Muslim-Americans have little influence as they constitute less than 1% of the US population ( a small voting block).

thats what im saying - westerners DO understand this. Fact is, people, citizens, in any country don't have any say in what their government does. Voting doesn't matter. Democracy doesn't exist.

Example: In 2005, a referendum was held in the Netherlands, if we should accept a European constitution, meaning 'Europe' (= a bunch of rich foreigners) would get legal power in the Netherlands.
A huge majority of people voted 'NO' (about 60%) even though the propaganda machine was in full force to vote 'YES'.
A while later it was still sneakily accepted by the corrupt fucks in our government.
The referendum was completely ignored as a big 'fuck you' to the citizens.

And this shit with the immigrants is happening because of the power the Europe top has over the countries in it. We can vote all we want - our government is the bitch of big corporations and the top of Europe.

Yepp migration and evolution are hallmarks of human race. Fine. People want to migrate to better places for better future.
