Putin

yes i know movie is old i also know it's all obvious to everyone with a bit of brain

but...

i would like to know what honestly those of you in US (Americans) are really thinking about what he says, kinda hard to say he's not right, isn't it? ;)

just for the moment put aside all hate against Russia and it's president and think about what he said and comment pls.

celandina 08-04-2016 11:39 AM

Prefectly reasonable position, but not for the "sabre rattlers" ....to them: "once red, always pink".:2 cents:

To them its better to climb up ISIS ass then communicate with somebody like Putin... Of course except Donald.

Just a few sec in, question "There's a new cold war, and you have decided to create that"

My god. The EU created it. Nice objective question, what an asshole.

Barry-xlovecam 08-04-2016 11:57 AM

Putin is entitled to his opinion. I am entitled to choose what to believe of it. Like I do any political leader.
I choose to ignore RT videos on youtube as propaganda just as I ignore the VOA, Press.tv or the BBC usually.

They are state sponsored and paid for propaganda tools.

Comparisons using PPP are arguably more useful than nominal when assessing a nation's domestic market because PPP takes into account the relative cost of local goods, services and inflation rates of the country, rather than using international market exchange rates which may distort the real differences in per capita income.[2] It is however limited when measuring financial flows between countries.[3] PPP is often used to gauge global poverty thresholds and is used by the United Nations in constructing the human development index.[2] These surveys such as the International Comparison Program include both tradable and non-tradable goods in an attempt to estimate a representative basket of all goods.[2]

PPP isn't accurate at all when comparing global economic power, influence, etc...

for example in the adult industry... imagine there is one guy making $1000/day.... another guy making $100/day...

which one is the "whale"?

Is it relevant at all that $1000/day guy lives in London and as a result can only afford mid-level standard of living? While the $100/day guy lives in India and lives like a king?

obviously, $1000/day guy is the "whale" and he is the one that everyone treats with respect, wants to do business with, etc... while the $100/day guy doesn't matter, even though he may have higher standard of living...

mineistaken 08-04-2016 02:43 PM

In terms of biggest economies in the world PPP is not the more suitable option.

Oops, woj just answered before me.

Indeed. PPP numbers needs to be mentioned when you think about your living. And non PPP numbers should be mentioned when talking about absolute numbers in terms of "biggest economies". This was the case in this instance.

Your analogy with GDP is just as stupid as if you would have said that the Mexican army is tougher opponent then Russian one because the Russian GDP is not as high.

In WW2 the Russians kicked ass with their GDP being less then 1/2 of German one. It is not about the GDP who is a superpower, but about kicking ass, and the Russians will always be better at it then anybody else ( except the Japanese) because they can be hungry, but will fight to the death in the next Great Patriotic War the stupid EU and the warmongers in the USA are asking for....:2 cents:

why do you need more great the economy if it gives you the average standard of living and a lot of work 24/12/365.
Do not you think that it is not in your interest?
And someone use you inhahis own interests, but instead of give material rewards for you tell stories about the "number 1" and the "great economy"

Russia to test unstoppable 'Satan 2' stealth nuke capable of wiping out an ENTIRE NATION
Moscow meda claims terrifying weapon can dodge radar defences and bring destruction to an area the size of 'Texas or France'

Russia is preparing to test-fire a nuclear weapon which is so powerful it could reportedly destroy a whole country in seconds.

http://share.gifyoutube.com/KzrooQ.gif

This is the most powerful weapon ever tested and its name means "The Tsar of Bombs", although the Russians officially called it AN602.

It was tested on October 30, 1961, and had 10 times the power of all the munitions used in World War II - or roughly 1,500 times the combined power of the Nagasaki and Hiroshima weapons combined.

When it was exploded on an island in the Arctic Sea, the bomb destroyed wooden houses hundreds of miles from the blast and generated a fireball so powerful it could cause third degree burns to a person more than 60 miles away.

Perhaps most worryingly, this appalling weapon could be dropped by a bomber jet, meaning it could have easily been used to wipe out Western cities.

Estimated death toll: 5,758, 910

One man's "standing up for national interests" is another man's "invasion". That's all. Just a perfectly harmless misunderstanding.

having nukes is like bringing a grenade to a bar fight... as soon as you use it, you will die yourself too, so completely useless... a knife or a gun ("conventional weapons") are 100x more appropriate... :2 cents:
