So there were the slaves in the slave ships and then there were the immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships. I missed that part in history class. I did not know slave ships had tourist class accommodations. I see now. That must be where Martin Luther King got that "We have a Dream" stuff, from the black tourists of the 17th and 18th century.

Most slaves didn't even know they were slaves since their lives improved so much compared to life in Africa. Ironically, the African tribes who captured and sold them to whitey were living worse lives than an American slave.

While the mainstream image of slavery is men being whipped and beaten in the fields, that is generally not true. These men were farm workers and their owners needed them to be in top physical condition.
