those estimated net worth sites are........worthless. They had "the rock" last year not even in the top 20 and it ended up he was number 1 earner for the past two years over 150 million per year. Shia has plenty of money. Wall Street 2, Transformers franchise, Indiana Jones........he has a lot of high profile movies. I'm sure I'm missing a lot. I disagree. Just look at his IMDB. Since 2010 he has worked on movies directed by Robert Redford, John Hillcoat, Oliver Stone, David Ayer and Lars von Trier and acted opposite some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

What you call "doing fine" is nowhere near his star power when he was peaking. He hasn't be that active since 2013 and then he was in one kind of big movie called Fury in 2014. Being in a softcore porn Lars Von Trier movie/experiment is not Transformers. And it's not that I think an actor's success is based on the size of the movies he does, but we can honestly say his career is on a bigtime downward trend.

Most actors who stick around for a long time maybe were huge once, but they find a niche they're good at and keep working steadily. Shia just looks like too much of a tool to figure out how to do that without shooting himself in the foot over and over. It's one of those "own worst enemy" situations but I do think he's a good actor and I like him in Charlie Countryman.

I think a lot of his fade from the public eye was a conscious choice. I saw an interview with him after the last Transformers movie he was in and he seemed pretty unhappy. That said, I think his drinking and sobriety issues played a role in all of this. I have a feeling if he wanted to be in those big movies again he could be, but he chooses to do obscure art projects and smaller things by choice. Still, I think his career is far from over. The guy is talented, he just has some serious demons he needs to get under control.
