Trump has no political or diplomatic experience, no ambassador to South Korea, and a gutted US State Department.

Trump seems to think of things in very simple terms, thinking he will just be able to walk in and have a fireside chat and fix things over a cup of tea or some Kentucky Fried Chicken. He doesn't seem to understand that in order to get to that point hundreds of people on both sides need to make a lot of agreements in advance. I remember when Kennedy was meeting with Khrushchev at the Vienna summit the Russians wanted Kennedy to wear a hat because they didn't want Khrushchev to "look bad' because he was wearing a hat (because it was so damn cold out).

It's complicated. Trump had no idea it was this complicated.

tactically it was the smartest move KJU used the hoopla to sway the negotiation hoping to get trump to do an Obama....ie inre Iran Obama was so commited to a deal that he didnt negotiate he took what he could get to say he got a deal....KJU was hoping Trump would do same...instead Trump said you need this deal more than I do, I am out....KJU mistake was releasing all 3 hostages had he released one with the promise of the others when the deal got done Trump would have been in a tougher position to walk away from....mark my words this aint over NK needs sanctions lifted thats what brought them to the table in the first place, that and pressure from China....I actually expected this I also expect e will come back to the table...a deal just for the sake of a deal is always a loser

or it could be the fact that trump accepted the deal ~45 minutes after just the idea of it was floated, without doing due diligence or a meeting with his experts on the matter. If he had done those things first he would have been warned Un was never willing to negotiate giving up nukes. what brought them to the table is that they had nothing to lose and everything to gain by appearing to come to a table. they had finished testing, they had blown up the mountain already.

Now Trump pulls out of summit the same guy you all said did nothing thre end of time is coming. Here in korea the news is saying north korea is asking for the summit to continue.

It seems the Trump administration has had little to do with setting up the meeting. All of this has been handled by South Korea. In fact, the Trump administration always seems surprised when there is any news - and then quickly attempts to take credit for it the following day. Moon has already meet with Kim Jong-un; The United States had NOTHING to do with this and wasn't even there.

The United States STILL doesn't have an ambassador after Trump being in office one year.

Chump is a dipshit and fucked over the leader of south korea. Everything is about only him. SK, NK, and China should continue to work something out

He's not giving up nukes and when trump finally realized that, after meeting with Moon at the WH over the last couple days, he realized he had to bail on the summit or else go through the summit and not get anything. There's nothing left for NK to give up except nukes and that's not going to happen.
