Danny O’Connor 82,911 50.1% Troy Balderson 81,573 49.3 Joe Manchik 1,006 0.6 Trump won this district by 11 points in 2016 Trump campaigned here yesterday My how times have changed for Trump :1orglaugh Even a 3 point loss here by Dems is a win :thumbsup |
This will be close. I think if the difference is .5% or less there will be a recount.

Troy Balderson Republican 85,523 49.7 Joe Manchik Green 1,037 0.6 All but 1 county pretty much 100%.. (Delaware) at 52% It will be close but Balderson slips by. |
Looks like a nail biter.
Whoever wins gets to do this again in November so this election really doesn't mean much more than acting as a sign of what is to come in a few months. |

Trump has pissed away all his political capital in just 18 months. Unheard of. This district should be more than 11 points ahead for Balderson. This is a huge GOP referendum against Trump. |

Franklin County is now at 99% and that just gives O'Conner this result Danny O’Connor Democrat 91,053 49.8% Troy Balderson Republican 90,852 49.7 Joe Manchik Green 1,078 0.6 With Delaware still at 66% |
Quote:
Trump's campaigning there had zero impact on percentages so far. Trump is officially a lame duck if the GOP doesn't win by a solid 1 point tonight. |

Danny O’Connor 91,053 49.8% Troy Balderson 90,852 49.7% Joe Manchik 1,078 0.6 91% reporting Franklin county is Republican and only 66% votes counted in from that precinct so far so likely Balderson will squeak by. Trump got 55% in Franklin county in 2016 |
Quote:
Delaware now at 82% Troy Balderson Republican 95,677 49.9% Danny O’Connor Democrat 94,936 49.5 Joe Manchik Green 1,102 0.6 |

Wow! 3,730 provisional ballots yet to be counted outside Delaware county and expected to go 2/3 Democrat
Provisional ballots for Franklin & Delaware not yet estimated but could be around 8k. Trump has pissed away all of his political capital in 18 months. The last Republican candidate to run in this precinct won by 37 points! Balderson is maybe 1 point holy fuck! This presinct has not gone Democrat in 38 years and only 1 democratic elected there since 1938. |
An additional 2,750 early votes yet to be counted.
No more Trump train, his momentum is completely gone, he can't even give a big win to a long time big blue presinct by campaigning in the area for a measly representatives seat. Wow |
Republicans hold Ohio ...
... and all of socialist star Ocasio-Cortez's endorsed candidates lost Tuesday primaries. |
I can't see how this result is anything but bad for the republicans. Even barely making it even costs 5M$ and a presidential visit. Something has gone wrong, whether it is dislike of Trump, or dislike of congressional republicans.

I do not even know what happened, but it seems to me like this was a huge win for Democrats - even if they lost. This was a district the Democrats haven't won in thirty-five years. Just the fact that the Democrats came so close is a wake up call for Republicans. Also, take a look at the money they invested. From what little I saw on TV tonight (which wasn't very much) the Republicans spent $5 million while the Democrats spent $1 million. |

Well of course the Dems will win. Why are you even asking?
Its obvious to all voters that Trump and the Republicans have destroyed every single facet of society and the economy. They've ruined everything. EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!! |
Both of them will have to do it all over again as the term lasts until November

Shocking that Trump has lost his grip on Republican voters in just 18 months. Imagine how many voters Trump will lose after the first time Manafort is found guilty. Imagine how many more voters after that Trump will lose when Mueller indicts Trump's son. Imagine how many more voters on top of that Trump will lose when he fires Mueler. |

Imagine how many voters will never claim to be Democrat ever again once they see the party has been deceiving them all along. Dems had 87% turnout last night in a special election... They threw everything at it.. And lost... You've won 1 out of 9 special elections..... You speak of money spent.. Because they are broke... Last I saw they were still millions in the hole from 2016 |
