Face masks are retarded and do not work.

Your disposable cotton and paper masks are useless.

Even worse, the cloth masks that everybody is wearing are actually dangerous and facilitiate the transmission of KungFlu.

The only masks that work are "medical masks and respirators", as pictured below. Everything else is useless.

Published in the Journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases, Volume 65, Issue 11, 1 December 2017:

Effectiveness of Masks and Respirators Against Respiratory Infections in Healthcare Workers: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Conclusions

Our analysis confirms the effectiveness of medical masks and respirators against SARS. Disposable, cotton, or paper masks are not recommended.

...medical masks are preferable to cloth masks, for which there is no evidence of protection and which might facilitate transmission of pathogens when used repeatedly without adequate sterilization.

Hey whatever makes you sleep at night bro. Justify not weaing one - then catch the Covid there in Los Angeles where the numbers are spiking. Smart!

Social distancing and washing your hands can cause cancer of the skin, hands and fingers and lead to depression, anxiety and fear of others. :)

Roll the dice baby!!

Countries with Early Adoption of Face Masks Showed Modest COVID-19 Infection Rates

In “COVID-19 and Public Interest in Face Mask Use,” researchers from the Chinese University of Hong Kong shared findings from their analysis of how public interest in face masks may have affected the severity of COVID-19 epidemics and potentially contained the outbreak in 42 countries in 6 continents.

Common sense tells you that every barrier between your mouth and your nose and any potential source of the virus can prevent you from getting the virus.

Is it full proof? Most likely not. But I am wearing a mask and you are wearing a mask and there six feet of distance between us... Odds are you won't get it.

None of these are peer-reviewed scientific studies.

They're effectively just opinion pieces.

According to the peer-reviewed scientific study I posted, placing a cloth mask over your face is actually more dangerous than doing nothing at all.

The cloth masks are filthy and are never sterilized, let alone sanitized. People put them in their pockets, in their purse, on the car seat after they get out of the store.

They use them over and over again, collecting filth and germs, and then they put it on their face? Common sense says it's counterproductive. So does science.

Yep, just looking for correlations, which are often coincidental

I believe in being able to breathe properly, oxygen in, carbon dioxide out, a vital process for the human body.

BigFurry 07-05-2020 11:17 AM

Both WHO and CDC recommends masks, you don't trust those either?

That's absolutely right, that's why if you have to use cloth masks, you get 10 instead of just 1. Put it on with clean hands, and and wash at 90°C between each use.

RandyRandy 07-05-2020 11:18 AM

Rode the subway on Friday. About 95% mask compliance for riders. In each car I rode, I'd say about 30% were wearing the mask PROPERLY. The vast majority didn't cover their noses.

But hey - most people are mask compliant as far as "looks" are concerned...

I'd love to see the pro-maskers "educate" people in my neighborhood on why you should wear a mask. In my part of Crown Heights you'd get swiss-cheezed up in a second. In the Hasidic part of Crown Heights they're not wearing masks either - and they're the Trump supporters. So once again the broad stroke of equating no masks with Trump is part of the virtue-signaling crowd's repertoire - not based in New York City reality, that's for sure...

Stay safe. Mask-shame on the Interwebs only. You'll live a longer life...

Slappin Fish 07-05-2020 11:51 AM

First, and for the MILLIONTH time, masks are a good protection when the sick or asymptomatic person wears one not as good when the virus is already in suspension everywhere

Second, your respirator image is a little misleading

This is what a N95 respirator looks like.

Why do stupid people insist on telling everyone how stupid they are? Too bad OP wasn't around for Polio, you didn't need a mask for that.

Bacteria?
Covid19 is a virus. Which means covid19 is as small compared to a bacteria, as a bacteria is as small compared to a human. Wrap your head around that.
It's like comparing apples to oranges. Or better yet comparing ants to woolly mammoths.

Besides that, bacteria in your gut and mouth can signal to human cells which cells are infected with a virus even before you have any antibodies. You know, because 70% of your immune system resides in your gut and it's made up of trillions of bacteria.

Keep using anti-bacterial hand gel to protect yourself from a virus people.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I agree about cloth masks tho. Those are BAD and nasty. Especially the fashionable ones. Get the disposable and throw it away every time you enter your home.

Just take a look at countries where it was mandatory and you will see that it works. (posting from a country where it is/was mandatory and it fucking worked lol)

This is correct. Hard as hell to find the disposable ones right now, unfortunately. I can't find them anywhere, just lots of those cloth fashion ones. Some people must be making serious bank off those things.

try ebay, they have a bunch of the n95 surgicals without the breathing ports on them

I just ordered some of these today https://www.ebay.com/itm/184314078855

Dickjagger1 07-05-2020 03:04 PM

Except for the fact that none of that has a fucking thing to do with anything, it's a great point.

First, this ain't SARS or H1N1. Second, everybody with more than 3 functioning brain cells knows that masks won't protect you from getting it. What they do is keep you from SPREADING it by community spread, which your article doesn't address because it only looks at healthcare workers contracting it in a controlled healthcare setting.

Also, you are a moron.

And there it is. Every major news org has produced similar videos.

This is common fucking sense. If you are standing three freet directly in front of someone and they sneeze, your face is going to get snot on it. If both of you are wearing masks.... You won't.

The peer-reviewed scientific literature refers to "medical masks and respirators", which are quite different from N95 masks.

This is the only type of mask that prevents the spread of KungFlu and other coronaviruses:

The real retarded part is how you bozos say they wont stop viruses from spreading while at the same time claiming they're strong enough to lower your oxygen levels.

Drama queens... I guess you'll demand your surgeon be unmasked while operating on you too should the occasion arrive :1orglaugh

Here's the thing. In the US we have such a violent peace we must spend BILLIONS on testing. More testing, more positives. It's mind blowing nobody talks about death rate plummeting

for the purpose of use (stopping you from spraying fluid everywhere in case you have picked it up during grocery shopping etc), cloth works fine..

the surgical stuff + n95 id suggest saving for trips to hospital etc
