What ever happened with NFTs?

Hi there GFY-ers,

Anyone knows what ever happened to NFTs, are they still a thing?

I still own couple of them, didn't want to buy shitload, since I didn't see much of potential in them, even though I'm huge Crypto fan and enthusiast. :)

I'm just wondering is still worth to list them for sale and everything, since I bought those NFTs like 2 years ago, out of curiosity and to enrich my portfolio and assets. :upsidedow

Not sure how to move forward with them. :helpme

LetterTwenty7 11-22-2023 03:49 AM

Interesting topic... No one mentions NFTs anymore - at least, that's my impression. And no one knows what the future holds.

Maybe it is better to hold them as they have a higher chance to grow in value in XX years. But who am I to tell you what to do. :)

It will most likely be a trend again when the market goes up :2 cents:

I'm looking at https://psychedelicsanonymous.com/ :thumbsup

I think they wanted to pull bitcoin success but problem is bitcoin success is a thing which can be done only once.

^^ Exactly.

Every bull run a new gimmick/altcoin is created and sky rockets. Vast majority of them crash or die in bear markets, while BTC is the one that continues to exist.

I never have seen any value in NFT's, still waiting for someone to enlighten me as to why they should be a great, valuable, awesome thing.

The premise of them with 'attached' value, such as you purchase one from a band / singer, and as a holder of the NFT, it allows you one VIP entry to see them perform per year kinda thing, fair enough...

A picture of a monkey, for the sake of a picture of a monkey though? I mean... Come on...

Well yeah, I'm thinking about the same, so thank you for your input. I asked honestly, because, as you said, nobody's talking about it anymore.

Lol, kinda. I bought like 3 of them, 2 years ago, just for fun and to see what can happen...

True, just wanted to enrich portfolio and also, didn't spend much on it. Didn't cost more than a dinner, lol.

And also in 8-bit rez, lol.

Thanks everyone for help and clarifying up things, everything as I expected. Also, if I'm not wrong, even listing them for sale is like true robbery. Gas (fees) for such an action are like insanely high, right?

NFT's are digital assets that are so easily copied I never understood how they could worth that much money in the name of ownership?

You have the point. Everything related to them is so fucking expensive. Costs, listing and as you said, it's not a big problem copying it, at all.

cordoba 11-26-2023 12:50 AM

NFTs remind me of the guy who had the idea of charging advertisers to buy 'pixels' on his website. He had loads of copycats thinking it was the next big thing.

The Million Dollar Homepage - Own a piece of internet history!

BaldBastard 11-26-2023 08:30 AM

Micro sale NFT's are taking off as digital assets in 3d worlds like IMVU

Baffles me why users are buying, but they are ;)

No need to look back. It was a stupid thing to begin with, designed to separate stupid people from their money.

Indeed. I still don't understand, though, how did they manage to pull up the whole charade. Especially with gas (fees) for buying, listing and selling. As you said, stupid thing for stupid people in order to milk money. :2 cents:

They're now called "ordinals", because the only people chronically moronic enough to still believe in such a stupid idea are bitcoiners.

I must disagree with you, "bitcoiners" has nothing to do with NFTs. Happens to be, that NFT is using Blockchain Technology for listings and buying/selling.

I wouldn't say that harshy, lol, but I agree with you man, one has nothing to do with other, either than Blockchain Technology, as I mentioned above.

It doesn't help really, since as you see in that particular article, it strictly says "Bitcoin Blockchain". So again, if I must repeat, the one and only similarity is that they share Blockchain Technology.

So, HTH you to better understand. :winkwink:

Apparently you don't even understand what a search engine is and think it's an "article", so it's no surprise you think "bitcoin ordinals" on the "bitcoin blockchain" have nothing to do with bitcoiners.

Dude, I opened the first article from your search link and read it. Just saying what I found, out of your "search". :thumbsup

So please, open my ignorant eyes and post some significant explanation, of course, if you know what are you saying and "understand" this better than anyone else. :helpme

It's not "anyone else" who doesn't understand the transparent relationship between bitcoin ordinals on the bitcoin blockchain and bitcoiners, it's you.

Statistically wise - that's even better, if I'm the only one. But yet again, you didn't explain it as I asked. So, you don't understand either or don't want to explain? :upsidedow

Why don't you explain what you think the following terms mean, since you claim 2 has nothing to do with 1, despite 2 only existing because of 1:

1. bitcoiner
2. bitcoin ordinal (NFT)

I already explained and gave my opinion. Because I thought I know and understand, yet you're trying to prove me otherwise. If anyone should explain, it should be you, since apparently you're an expert.

So, if you're not clueless about what you're talking about, either explain or :321GFY

Yeah, seems to be. That's why I started this thread, since I didn't notice anyone talking about NFTs for quite some time. Honestly, I don't mind it, it's stupid, as we agreed above. Hyped up crap, nothing more.

But as you said, they will invent some other dull shit and sell it to the masses. I'm just not happy if they use again Blockchain Technology as it's background, just to sell the shit out again.
