Sad day.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,95203,00.html
Maybe the ACLU should have gotten involved. oh that's right, they're against these type of things... things the MAJORITY of people in this country hold dear, things that offer a somewhat positive message. Freedom of Speech, expression, and art.. bye bye. Further down the fucking spiral we go. This country is a contradiction of itself. |
Um that is GOOD news. No religious favoritism. As antheist I would feel I'm not getting TRUE justice where my religiuos beliefs or lack thereof were I to be in that courtroom.
As far a freedom of speech, the courtroom is that judge's JOB. I couldn't have pics of naked woman at places I've worked before. Or wear shirts that said "Will work for POT" Was I denied freedom of speech? That judge can have the 10 commandments posted on his property or car or wherever durring his free time. |
The other option is to allow Hindu, Buddist, Taoist, satanic, etc etc monumnets in the same lobby. That would be a shrine to freedom of religion.
Since my favorite alter is a nude blonde with nice pert breasts to lick wine from it would be a pleasure to have a few volunteers for that monument. |
religion is a sham.
|
Good news. Preservation of the concept of separation of church and state.
What right does an elected official have to decorate the walls of a publicly paid for building with something representing just his religious beliefs? The answer is NONE! |
and if it was the statue of david (as was brought up the other day), you'd all be defending it's right to be there, as it's a work of art.
|
religion and politics will never be friends!!

That ten commandments monstrosity is vile Christian propaganda. Good decision. Fuck religion. |
the 10 commandments can eat a dick. I'm glad they pulled that shit out of there
|
I would like to see a pic on the religious freaks faces when they come in with bulldozers and jack hammers to remove that thing from government.

Here is your biggest problem with keeping religion in the government... this guy wants everyone to believe like he does... I am so sick of these assholes shoving their morality in my face.... |

Ten commandments is not strictly Christian, and it's hardly a monstrosity. It's the basis for many of the laws in this country. It's public property, it should have been put to the public to decide. The gripes of a few outweigh the desires and the beliefs of the many. This country has officially failed. Freedom of speech is dead. And before I get the religious freak nonsense, I'm not religious by any sense of the word, and I do not believe the 10 commandments to be the word of, nor written by (a) God, but are a creation of man. My gripe is solely about the freedom of speech being trampled. |

Christianity has no place in schools or in little kids mind. |
Amazing that a bunch of people who cry foul and claim "ART" and "FREEDOM OF SPEECH" when porn is being attacked, seem to have no problem trampling "ART" and "FREEDOM OF SPEECH" when it doesn't fit your mold.

Better the Koran, than a statue of some naked dude with his cock and balls dangling about. |
If you havent noticed.
i am ANTI-CHRISTIAN call me what you want. I wish Herod would have ended your entire religion before it started. Christianity is an insult to mankind and the intelligence that seperates us from the fucking monkeys. Go protect your kid fucking priests elsewhere holmes, we dont need no stinking priest tablets in our school teaching our kids to bow so you christians can slip your dick in their mouth easier. The truth hurts dont it. :1orglaugh |

IT'S ON GOVERNMENT PROPERTY! Let the judge put it in his own front yard... |

you can't be that fucking stupid. |

If it's just about freedom of sppech, as I said, let the judge put it on his own property. There's no freedom of speech issue here... |

It's not spoken... it's written.... It's part of the bible... which makes it religious... How can you have that there and keep church and state seperate?... |
This is not a freedom of speech issue.
This is a seperation of church and state issue. I think that most of us would agree that everyone has the right to believe whatever the fuck they choose... however... The USA, and Australia (where I'm from) are not christian or jewish states. |
Good. Seperation of church and state is always good.
|
Like I said, it's a sad day, and you people have only emphasized that fact.
Too bad most of ou don't realize that you're encouraging your own demise. |

Listening to this. 'Drones since the dawn of time Compelled to live your sheltered lives Not once has anyone ever seen Such a rise of pure hypocracy I'll instigate I'll free your mind I'll show you what I've known all this time God Hates Us All, God Hates Us All You know it's true God hates this place You know it's true he hates this race. We hold these truths to be painfully self-evident All men are not created equal Only the strong will prosper Only the strong will conquer Only in the darkness of Christ have I realized God Hates Us All' good shit :glugglug |
