Sosa 06-17-2004 09:51 PM

I was just checking out blue cross plans here in Nebraska. I can get it for $70/month or $113/month depending on which plan. Most is 10-15% on meds, and 20% co-pay I think.

Trixie Racer 06-17-2004 09:51 PM

$250/month:
$5 doctor visit co-pay ($750/year out of pocket maximum)
All services covered 100% (including chiropractic and accupunture!)
Prescriptions: $5/generic & $10/brand name

Considering all the benefits of living in Australia, the tax situation here isn't that bad.

A good chunk of change, but no deductable. :)

You might want to look into medical airlift insurance for all the conferences and business meetings you all attend, I recommend AirMed Assistance

Pardon the cut and paste...

It is an annual membership to provide prepaid air ambulance transportation. AirMed Assistance fills a void in current healthcare plans by providing domestic hospital-to-hospital Air ambulance transportation services. In addition, AirMed Assistance membership provides a worldwide evacuation and repatriation air ambulance benefit designed to transport members all the way back to their hometown hospital.

Its $195 for individuals, so if I break a leg in TJ, I sure as hell don't want to stay in a Mexican hospital, I can be flown back to Chicago via an air ambulance, and the ground transportation ambulance from the airport is included in the membership price.

$200 doesn't even cover spooling up the engines on a Lear, let alone flying 2100 miles, so this is one policy I am happy to have! :thumbsup

NiTe-HaWk 06-18-2004 02:17 AM

I am not paying yet. I am seriouly thinking about getting some though.

some people who say that come to GFY begging for money when they finally hit the hospital. And everyone will, at least once in their life.

mcmc 06-18-2004 02:29 AM

$250 a month for 1 person in Switzerland (you cant choose, you have to pay) (dental not included :( )

thatjen 06-18-2004 03:48 AM

For Blue Cross of CA I was paying about $45 for just health insurance. Now in that I'm in NV, Blue Cross is $90 a month for the same plan. It's not a real great plan, but it's the cheapest I could find.
