I'm 41 y/o and already did my eight years....

I am to old for a draft. I aint the first pick and prolly could never fight a war. I am a conscious objector and have been since being honorably discharged from Ft Mc Clellan Alabama.

I was an MP.

But what concerns me is whether or not when the draft comes how many of you are willing to fight a war.

I 'm too old and live in Canada...we have you guys to protect our asses:glugglug

I'm too old, certainly, and Canadian.

Btw, in the next war the US chooses to fight, if Canada isn't directly involved, many young Canadians will cross the border and enlist in the US military. Just like they have done for this Iraq war, just like they did for Viet Nam.

Nope, not that either. There was a news article printed just after the war started that was all on those Canadians who crossed the border to sign up. The one's mentioned were all from down east, like the maritimes.

If the draft came, and the US asked for Canada's help, I would join the Canadian army and go over.
Shit, if Canada was involved in Iraq (even afghanistan) I would never have been in adult- I would have been fighting.

But we didn't get involved so it is a moot point. Nothing is more important than preserving our great countries and I would die fighting if I had to. :)

We ARE involved in Afghanistan.... since Day One...

First off I'm to old I think.. But I would not go to Iraq. I do not believe in the mission and would not fight what will basically be a civil war. If it was about terrorism or a real threat to America or one of our allies then yes, but I would be no part in a war for big business.

Involved, but I would say 90% of canadian citizens dont consider it essential, nor a huge threat. We are there just to beef numbers.
I don't consider that much of a threat.

I should clarify. If it was something the Canadian government said "We NEED soldiers, our freedom depends on it" such as the US is doing now... thats a diff story.

America's freedom depends on Iraq?

If they imposed a draft I wouldnt be worried. I have to many things going against me for them to draft me.
