Massive emails - is it just me or...
 

Has anyone else noticed a huge increase in spam, returned, undeliverable, etc emails in the past two days.. mostly in German or French?

I'm getting quite a bit new German spam.

I just cleaned over 400 out of my mailbox from the last few hours only to find 50 more on a recheck.

Yep, been getting slammed with spam all day long.

My spam filters are catching alot more mails these days thats for sure.

I have my email client set to route all that shit into the shit bin (where it belongs),
checking now....

I get lot of e-mails for buying bootleg softwares :(

oh.. well my mailwasher program has bayesian filtering.. it is marking the headers as spam or blacklisted, but I find it also marks alot of possible valid emails that I have to at least run through the headers to check. And.. since mailwasher pro is not serverside.. I have to at the very least download all the headers. Annoying when it goes from 300 a day to 2000 or more.

I tried spamarrest a while back.. with the volume of valid email I usually receive it just wasn't worth it for me. I always worry about the ones that 'got away'.

I feel left out, nor German naither French spam in my inbox. Not even Russian !!!

I get tons of german spam too. I speak a little german and its all racist bullshit.

100+ in one of my email accts last night....total spam. :(

Most of what I'm getting is not outride emails, but return-types.. likely because my email addy is commonly used for spoofs when viruses are used that grab email addresses from cache for spoofing.

I havent noticed any increase, just the same 100 mortgage spams and "Mr. Peterson has $235,899 waiting for you" spams I get everyday.

i am getting about 1500 to 2000 of those german emails every few hours.

hehe I get the mortgage things too.. funny thing.. my mortgage was paid off 15 months ago. Or I get them that list my P.O box as the property.

Ok good it is not just me. I really thought I somehow pissed of some german spammer yesterday. I was getting hammered hard with various german spam.

spamarrest rocks, PK you shoudl try it. I was up to way over 1000 a day and then i thought - why am i sifting though this? It was taking a lot of time. Now i get 10-15 relevant emails a day - it's awesome.

i am getting tons of mass spam emails with viruses in them,

i like SpamAssassin so does Verio

that's what happens when america passes silly laws to regulate the internet. everything moves offshore.

Lots of german spam 900 emails yesterday from there, usually i'm only getin 5-10 spams max
