What if you do if have evidence of a program not crediting you signups?

Lets say my source of traffic I interact with the surfers and I have them send me confrim emails of the signup.

And I checked my stats and there are still 0 signups for today

aleck 06-19-2005 10:09 AM

wait 2-3 days first

aleck 06-19-2005 10:09 AM

at least 24 hrs

fris 06-19-2005 10:10 AM

depends how many :)

chadglni 06-19-2005 10:14 AM

I would be a pissed SOB. Would think about my actions for a bit but there definatly would be action.

Harmon 06-19-2005 10:15 AM

Wait a bit, then contact them. If you get a bullshit response, or none at all for that matter, expose the fuckers here. :2 cents:

khs 06-19-2005 10:16 AM

I would post all the drama on gfy before contacting the program owners...

brand0n 06-19-2005 10:16 AM

a "glitch"

hes not asking for advice man, hes slinging dirt. and hes doing a half ass job.
cut to the chase.

Trax 06-19-2005 10:23 AM

how many signups are we talking about here?

take this into account
no cookies
overwritten cookies/other aff ids
typeins without aff code
and so on

if you would have done test with other people to test a program this is a different situation.

If I had hard evidence of being shaved I would be on the phone to them, fuck email or ICQ. If I got the runaround for more than a couple of days (workdays, not weekend days), well, by Wednesday I would out the fuckers on every webmaster board from here to Cal-fucking-cutta.

One word of caution though... it goes without saying that the "hard evidence" had better be damned solid. But I thought I'd say it anyway. :D

taibo 06-19-2005 10:25 AM

i would think the signups need to be processed first before you see it in your stats

KMR Stitch 06-19-2005 10:31 AM

I think I will give the program 24 hrs. So I know that all signups are credited

Either that I am going to do a test signup in a few hrs. And post the results

should be instant.
But I do know the sometimes I get new sales for the day befor, they just got held up or something.

shann 06-19-2005 10:35 AM

Contact the program before you start freaking out, there could be a logical explanation. Of course there might not be, which is far more entertaining for the rest of us. ;)

kernelpanic 06-19-2005 10:44 AM

Wait for a few days, to give them the benefit of the doubt, and if you still don't see signups, then post it here. That means that either:

a) They are shaving.
b) Their stats system is dysfunctional.

Either way, its unacceptable.

edit: and I assume that you're not going to expose someone over 2 signups or something not statistically significant like that

To expose a company would cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars. I don't think I could ever deal with the fact that I took them down for a few signups if anything I would ask the company to fix there problem. Then again look at pibcash. They have a horrible rep and they won't ever be able to have 100% honesty ever again. I donno my morals come into play with this one.

stev0 06-19-2005 10:56 AM

You're trusting your surfers? I'm willing to bet that it's just people trying to snag free access by saying they signed up.

so if I have 3 signups that I KNOW I should have, and only get credit for 1 its statistically insignificant and I should just let it go?

1 shaved sale is too many.

Rhesus 06-19-2005 11:11 AM

I think you need to stop running sites that give an incentive for a surfer to sign up.

i think it happens all the time :(

tranza 06-19-2005 11:19 AM

If you are 100% sure they did this, expose the fuckers.

But don't do it unless you can take the heat.

You are not going to do a damn thing. Everyone knows this. I hope the sig views on your fake drama thread makes you some cash.

Oh and Happy Fathers Day. :thumbsup

SmokeyTheBear 06-19-2005 12:47 PM

First, make sure your links are correct, don't know how many times I've seen people put links that are all fucked up or have a space on the end, etc etc...

Second, wait 48 hours to see if the sign-up(s) show up.

Third, CALL them, do not email them or ICQ them

If they give you the run around, stop promoting their sites, and post a thread saying "I think "So and So Company" may be a little shady, because....., so you guys might want to check your stats and see if they are fucking you over"...

no wait, fuck all that, just post them in GFY and start some Drama.

Manowar 06-19-2005 01:16 PM

Expose them
