Here is the deal the FSC has agreed to
Under the deal, the government will not enforce the new 2257 regulations until the FSC's lawsuit challenging them is resolved.
Thats essentially it, and that is a reasonable deal. While technically this would only apply to FSC members, realistically it will apply to everyone. |
did they announce this?
|
Please note that this is not final until the judge agrees to it, but he will.

vote with bullets

So essentially they got the injunction from the DOJ instead of the court? Sounds like the DOJ is dealing from a position of weakness.
|
where is the official statement?
|
where did you get that from? Linkage?
|
post the link, so that everyone can read it
|
I got it from an inside source who would know. I believe it
|
God damn Mike... you get the scoop on everything first. Good stuff. Thanks.

he also calls bullshit where bullshit need to be called I bet you liked reading the gossip sites yesterday Mikey! :-)) |
Just to support the cause, we should all be members of the FSC. Not that we would be blanketed under them, but because it's right to support the people fighting our battle.

the fsc filed a lawsuit saying they are bullshit apparently the DOJ agreed to not enforce the regulations until the lawsuit is dealt with in court now, if the FSC coalition loses the suit - the regulations stand as of June 23rd 2005. anyone who is not compliant TODAY and gambling on the result of the lawsuit has huge balls. |
Sounds good, but I predict this will only result in people putting off what should already be done, so that in the event the FSC fails in its lawsuit people will be wailing once again that they did not have enough time to become compliant.
|
<<<<----- Told you so.
|
there will be a lot of legal posturing and this can be tied up for a while I suspect-
I also don't think it'll be retroactive and that the DOJ is going to go after people that weren't compliant by th 6/23/ date- That's just paranoia |
Quote:

truth is compliance goes back to 1995 anyway
|
at least the record keeping aspects do.....

But the fact that they CAN if they want to should be enough for alarm. Even Paranoia. Damn... This is still good news nevertheless.. |
