It will no doubt be around $200 more expensive over here. As always...
|
Multiple pricing options will help sell more units.
Microsoft is getting a HUGE jump on PS3. There's even talks about sony holding off until 2007. Microsoft and EA are going to own all of the gaming industy at some point. :winkwink: |
I know I will be broke cause I am getting XBOX 360 and PS3!
|
Wow, good info TDF. :thumbsup
|
thats damn cheap.
|
not bad at all, the game trailers look amazing

I question the legitmacy of these prices. Especially since Microsoft said they would no longer be making wired controllers for the X-Box 360 nor will they support the old X-Box controllers. The only wire that will be needed is a cord that connects the controller to the X-Box for recharging purposes.

Ill save up for a PS3

Just makes getting a PS3 more likely. I thought the big deal with XBOX is that it has a HD? Well if XBOX lovers want that they have to shell out $400. If the difference between a XBOX 360 and a PS3 is only $100 I'll be getting a PS3. At $299 I probally would have gone with the XBOX 360. |
damn they jacked those prices up on the accessories. I will hold out for PS3 anyways
|
yikes..it better do the dishes
|
i'll buy both:)

One signup a day ain't cutting it for these future-surfers I guess... :1orglaugh |
$400 would be a bargain with all the shit it will be able to do out of the box not to mention with hacks....
I love my modded Xbox with a 200 gig drive and Xenium Ice chip! Great to watch movies on and store games etc.... I can even run Windows and Linux on it! I bought the Xbox right when it came out and bought another and I'll be buying the 360 soon. |

Yeah, freakin EA bought the exclusive football licenses... I want my ESPN football back! Madden is crap. |

Those bitching about prices need to make more money, plain and simple. |
They are fucking themselves by not making the hard drive standard. Now games aren't going to be written to take advantage of it when it is not a standard item. Sounds like it is just going to be for storing custom soundtracks and other crap.

Yeah it isn't exactly cheap, but it's really more than a gaming console. It's more like a scaled down computer and if you use it to the full potential, it will be worth the money. The original Xbox was like $300 or $350 when it came out, don't remember exactly how much. |

I think this source is reliable enough and confirms the prices

Cuz it's not that easy really ... I have a pretty souped up computer, but I want an Xbox that is "dedicated" for gaming, meaning I can be up and running a game fast and have no bugs in a nice little, portable package. I also have a media center, etc all ready to go in this box. I could spend a lot more on a dedicated gaming computer, but it won't be as easy to use and bug free, etc as an xbox/xbox 360. Also, not all xbox games are also released on PC. $400 wouldn't go far in souping up a computer nowadays, that would just cover a great graphics card or a good processor. |

I say that because either of the systems is a tremendous value by any definition of the word. They all deliver PC levels of realism in games for half the price. In fact, just an nVidia 7800GTX (PS3 equivalent video card) or a pending ATi R520 (Xbox360 equivalent video card) costs $500. Alone. With no PC. They're incredible values in that light. And you're incorrect on the PS3's rendering power, it's roughly equivalent to the Xbox360's as noted above. There will be no visible difference between the titles on either system, both will be top tier. |

XBox360 launches in less than 90 says. PS3 is at least a year away...maybe two. That's gonna be a tough one to win. |
Quote:
Examples: For the PS3, I need to own one simply so I can play future Gran Turismo and Solid Snake titles. On the Xbox, I need to own one simply to play future Halo and a few other smaller titles. Both win. But Sony has pinned themselves in a corner by being not only late, but likely +$100 higher in price at the same timeframe for the same package next June (PS3 launch month). That's going to be a stiff kick in the balls for them the first six months but once their exclusive franchises ship later that year they'll be fine. |
