biz markie gives them enough negative points to make them about even with white folk in the singing department.

Black people get more encouragement to make song & music part of growing up so there's a predisposition to being able to do it better than other races.

But people like Christina Aguilara shows what can happen when a non black person gets that same encouragement.

You also just explained the higher crime rates for blacks.

I think it just seems that way because in the past one of the only fields that blacks were accepted was the entertainment industry. the singing and dancing now its sports... all for the entertainment of white people...lol go figure.. plus it has big bucks

most black people were displaced to areas stricken with poverty. Did they decide to move there ? No....when seperate but equal was struck down by the Supreme Court they had no choice but to stay there......Since seperate but equal was no longer valid....all the white people took their good books, and good teachers, good business' and moved out of the inner city. leaving all of the black people behind...with poor education and jobs.

what do you do when you have no education....and lack of jobs?

wrote a 50 page paper in college on how Seperate but Equal was actually a good thing. Got an A+ and a request to have it published....fearing the backlash i might recieve from something like this i declined.

I agree that separate but equal is part of it definitely, but by no means is it the base reason.

Thanks when i told my professor what I was planning on doing his head nearly spinned. But I managed to pull it off. Seperate but Equal pushed all of the money and resources out of the inner city. A compromise halfway would have been better for the Supreme Court to rule...but they didn't. Life goes on.

I agree with you completely.

Also I think the higher crime rates is not based on race but rather economics.. the poorer you are the more likely you will do what ever it takes to survive..... plus black people do not have a strong sense of community that other races tend to have.. ie . hispanics and latinos....... but I will not get into the reason for that in this thread

music knows no color, same with other talents. observing that there are more black singers than white is just coincidence.
