A mistake to tell a bank. Some will close the account or freeze it for awhile.

You risk losing $.

Not attorney so I don't know if they can get away with it, but have heard some stories.

Was just going through terms and conditons on a banks web site. A popup window flashed with an online rep offering to help (yes button and no "no" button so I just closed the window) ...... Me thinks they are watching to close.

mkx 12-15-2005 04:47 PM

unless the teller is hot, its none of their business and has no social advantage

RayBonga 12-15-2005 04:47 PM

I'm going to start Porno Bank.

A bank dedicated to serve the porn industry.

There's a need that the market is not fulfilling and I plan to take full advantage of that.

Anyone wants to join me?

OMG I would have killed the employee LOL

That's just something people at the bank don't need to know. If you are putting money in their bank, they should zip their lip and just be happy

Buy Ibill ( they should pay you 5 mil easy to take on the liabilities ), scam the webmasters even more and you have the 10 to open your bank.

Repeat as needed.

The ATM's the easy part, it's getting the jackbooted thugs in the government who insure banks to approve the charter.

Not going to happen in the US...

A few years back I got a letter from my bank telling me that they had good information that one of my checks was bad so that I should not spend that money for at least 10 days. I go down there and they tell me which check it is. the check is from AFF so I know it's golden as they always have been an A++ company. I ask them why they thought it was bad. The manager pulls me aside and tells me that the check is from a "adult" company and that usually those checks are bad. I then tell him that about 90% of the checks I bring in there are from "adult" companies and that none of them have ever bounced. He seemed a little shocked.

I then ask him that if I brought in a check from amazon.com would they hesitate to cash it and he said no. I then tell him that amazon has never made a profit and just goes . . . "oh." About three weeks later I was going to set up my business account with this bank they told me that they would not give me a business account since I hadn't had my personal account for more than a year with them. So I closed my account. Suddenly when I went to close my account with my nice savings balance the manager seemed to want to be my friend.

It was a classic moment when he came up to the teller window and asked why I was closing my account and I said, "well, it seems you are okay with my smut money once the checks clear and it's in my savings account, but you want nothing to do with the checks themselves." the woman at the next teller window looked over at me with a shocked look on her face. I just smiled at her and said, "don't worry, your secret is safe with me." She blushed, the manager blushed and I left.

The bank I have now all of them know and think it's cool or funny.

I was once asked by a teller about a large "Flint Digital" (HUSTER) check. She ask me if I worked for Huster. I said I do computer work for them. Then she said she was a model and was looking to do adult work.

Some folks really do live in an alien world kane :winkwink:

Used to love banks who send along "advisors" to tell ya all about the business you run and how they can help blah. Some were nice so was hard to be offensive to em - but one was a total idiot who claimed to know everything and dammit, would not quit making silly assumptions, - so he was given the GFY dialogue.

Bank managers love naked ladies kane - whether pics of em or in the flesh - it never fails :1orglaugh

I know that banks freak out first and ask questions later. But porn is a legal business and I'm curious to know if a bank has actually ever shut down someone's bank account and if so, has that person succesfully sued the bank?

And you walked away not asking to do a shoot for her?

pocketkangaroo 12-15-2005 06:50 PM

I technically don't think you can shut someones bank account down for that. I know they can't turn down felons and criminals from opening accounts.

If I remember correctly Silvercash had thier account closed and they had all kinds of issues once their bank found out they were an adult company.

Do you know if they sued and if so, what was the outcome?

Wouldn't a bank need some evidence that the funds where proceeds of crime before they did that anyways?

It's always a good idea to have a few different bank accounts, just in case.

As far as I know they didn't sue. I think it is one of those things where a bank, like most businesses, can refuse service to anyone.

Sure, a bank can refuse service. Obviously, I was talking of an event where monies where seized.
