Choker sending fake traffic?
 

I purchased a few K of traffic from choker today. (I had some credit with them) Anyway, I'm logging the activity and noticed something a bit odd...

Hundreds of ips in the same range:
195.93.21.x - Where x is a random number

The MAJORITY (~90%) of them viewed ONE random gallery and then closed the site.

There's no way that's real traffic...

those ips could be explained by a college or something..tons of people in the same ip range...just checking out a gallery here or there

Looking through more of the logged ips, and am noticing its happening a lot more than I thought. Perhaps it's someone cheating choker (most likely) but I'm definitely not buying if this continues. I'll use up my credit and I'm done with them.

Here's a sample from the range I posted above.

All of these came into the site within a few minutes of each other.

In the IP list above, ALL of them came in within 5 minutes of each other, viewed ONE gallery from a RANDOM paysite and left immediately after that.

ALL clicked a total of 2 times.

Those that didn't view a gallery, clicked on a page, followed by a paysite, then closed it.

Not what I'd call normal surfing...

There's no question these are fake.

that wouldn't be quality traffic as chokers site is telling you it is. Never bought any traffic there and never so i can't tell for my self but this sounds bad.

Oh, there's no question some of it is real.

The problem is that I'm using this traffic to guage visitors surfing patterns on my new site so that I can tweak things to make it more sticky...

As such, I'm sending the traffic in blocks, looking at what they do, adjusting and then buying another block...

It's impossible to do this if the majority of the traffic is fake since I'm running on averages. After buying the traffic, my click-thru ratio to paysites dropped from around 50% to 5%...

I don't understand why this guy didn't go directly to choker and let him know the problem. It could be a simple fact that someone is cheating him, Yet you turn around and make it as if he purposely doing it.

195.93.21.x is one of AOL's proxy server-parks
It just mean you have a lot or shitty AOL traffic.
Stop buying bulk traffic, its worthless - absolutely worthless

I have no intention of buying more traffic from them, and my credit was small enough that I don't really care beyond this post. I have enough on my plate then to worry about choker. This thread is only to post my experiance with the traffic today.

That was NOT the only IP range giving those results. Hopefully you're right, and the traffic is just total shit prod wise...

Everyone is susceptible to fraud, He may not be aware of it...I guess he is now...Because you couldn't take 10 minutes out of your busy schedule to let him know via email or icq. Class A man...Class A!

Open a DOS prompt and type:
tracert IP adress (press enter)

It will give you something like:
Tracing route to cache-los-ad04.proxy.aol.com [195.93.21.100]

Check one ip-adress from every ip-range and see if im not right

Post the other ranges, let's see if those belong to AOL as well.

AOL proxies have for long been whitelisted by traffic brokers, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone found a nifty way run a hitbot through them. In that case, I'm sure Choker is at a loss on this as well, as he's also on the receiving end of hitbot traffic.

He said he bought what?... a few thousand hits? Christ sakes that's a spit in a bucket. I've bought blocks of traffic in the 300k range from Choker in the past, hell I think I have close to that owed me in "chicken eggs" or whatever he calls them. I've never had a problem with his traffic, but if there currently IS a problem then wouldn't it have been better to just talk directly to him and see if the problem can't be remedied?

He may get better/quicker service if he posts it here and directly to Choker. I don't think what he is doing is trashing Choker. One post from Choker can clear this up. Are you upset with Choker for mentioning the 20 GRand he is owed here? We don't really need to know that do we? He is saying pay me, or I out you here isn't he? Choker will get better results if he makes this grievence public.

I've bought 100s of K of both gallery traffic and feeder traffic from Choker and it has always been good.

uhm 0:9000, as all circle traffic is, if real closed window instantly, so they can pop up another page to another victum
