As for him, I would love to have a face to face to find out what the fuck his problem really is with us. I read what he writes and laugh at his cartoons that he has time to make and just wonder.

Personally, I think coming on here and starting to insult people is a mistake. Whether they're in the wrong or not, it's business 101 to not insult your customer base.

Your company obviously has an image problem, whether it's deserved or not doesn't really matter, the image problem still exists. Coming on here and insulting those that are perpetuating that image problem probably isn't the best way to deal with it.

In fact, everyone that gives a public face to your company including you, Keyser, Tassy when she was on board, etc. have all gotten so frustrated by the image problem, that they've lashed out at customers, only helping to make the image problem worse.

Personally, I think it would be money well spent for your organization to hire an image consultant or bring in someone to take a fresh look at branding a better face to your corporate identity.

I think such an effort would more than pay for itself. :2 cents:

But then again, wtf do I know, I'm just a thexy gay homosexual. You can proceed to insult me now too. :winkwink:

He's obviously trying to help, but obviously keeps making matters worse.

Insulting people that post the most on the board is going to do what for your company? Get it badmouthed by those that have the largest voice on here, that's what it's going to do.

Those with high post counts are megaphones that can broadcast a very positive, or very negative, message about a company, and do so VERY loudly.

Chris just used "postcount" as a way to insult people, telling them they have too much time on their hands, aren't doing anything productive, and basically just called them lazy pieces of shit in no uncertain terms.

Epassporte has an image problem, it's been getting worse, and obviously no one he currently has on staff has an understanding of the dynamic that they're dealing with and working in that can fix it.

They need to bring someone onboard that does. It would make a WORLD of difference for their company. :2 cents:

This is GFY where some posters idea of fun is to make as much drama as possible. Half the people bashing ePassporte have never contacted me with their problems despite me offering to help them again and again, so why do they keep bashing ePassporte? Are they scammers that had their account closed? Or just bashing ePassporte because they think it makes them look cool?
Let me ask you why you post that image in every ePassporte thread? My understanding is that you don?t want to use ePassporte why get involved then? If there were drama about your program would you want me to post funny images in the thread?

ePassporte is real life and its real money we are dealing with like any other electronic payment service the scammers tries to scam the best they learned. We have rules in place to prevent fraud and to follow the law, in a perfect world it would not be necessary to block accounts for suspicious activity.
50-75% of the people having their accounts blocked it?s because they went over the $5000 limit that requires that their account is verified and it?s quickly solved and the account unblocked. In the 9 months I?ve worked for ePassporte it?s happened twice that a card holder contacted me about his/hers account being blocked and it turned out to be a mistake, twice.
ePassporte is a big operation a lot of webmasters use ePassporte many more than the biggest affiliate program has affiliate and of cause there will be more complaints because of that.

I follow most if not all the adult boards in one way or another and GFY is the only place where people need to make threads about how much ePassporte suck, on all the other boards posters either know they can contact CS or me, If not they make a thread asking for advice and myself or someone else gives them my contact information.
I understand people going to the boards if they contacted me or support and didn?t get help but making ?drama? threads without contacting us first that I simply don?t understand.

I work 5 days a week and half a day on weekends and that?s by choice I don?t want a card holder with problems having to wait until Monday morning or the next day if there is anything I can do about.
I won?t leave ePassporte until Chris kicks me out ,I love my work and the people I work with, they are great if it weren?t for them I wouldn?t be able to do my job.
Could many of the problems I am contacted with be solved by going thru CS? Yes. But ICQ is the preferred communication method in our industry and calling from outside US is not an option or very expensive for some card holders. I appreciate the positive comments about me but I am just doing the job Chris hired me to do and if I for some reason stopped working for ePassporte I am sure someone else would be hired to take my place.

Bashing Epassporte has become an "in" thing to do, and your company isn't broadcasting a positive enough image about itself to make that no longer the case. If someone bashed epassporte and there were 30 people that followed saying what a great company it was, the bashing would stop.

Unfortunately Epassporte hasn't done a good job getting people to vocalize positive opinions of the company.

Want to know what I would do if I had problems with my affiliate program and some fag like me kept posting that "nothing to see here" image? I'd play off on it. I'd start a "photochop this image" contest and give away a ton of money along with it. That would diffuse the image, and everytime someone saw it, they'd think of Epassporte's sense of humor, and all that damn money they gave away to have the image chopped.

Having a photochop contest of the "nothing to see here" image would have done WAY WAY WAY more for Epassporte than giving away stupid dog tags at a trade show. :2 cents:

Yes, and by everyone's account on here, you're great at providing support for the company that you work for. In fact, you're about the only thing I hear people talk positively about when Epassporte is mentioned.

That speaks volumes about 2 things:

1. The great job that you're doing providing support for Epassporte customers that really need and want it.
2. That despite that, Epassporte's public image is so mucked up that no matter how good of a job you're doing, their rep keeps getting worse.

And you're only human, and at times I've seen you get so frustrated by Epassporte's image problem, that you end up lashing out. That's natural, but it should be a HUGE red flag to Epassporte. Hey, our #1 support rep that everyone likes feels like he's working in a battlefield. What does that say about our company's public image?

There are PLENTY of things Epassporte could do that would help to solve the VAST majority of the problems they have. Most of which wouldn't even cost them a dime.

How about some of these ideas?

1. Join the Better Business Bureau and put their seal on your site. This lets people know that if they ever do have a dispute with your company, that they feel hasn't been solved, there's an independant 3rd party out there to act as a mediator to get things solved. That would help build trust.

2. Put an FAQ on your site explaining some of the most asked questions. Why does my card not have raised lettering, etc. etc. etc. These are stupid issues that cause big drama for your company, and they don't need to be.

3. Why not hook up with some of the larger sponsors and work with them to come out with co-branded promotions. You have VERY respected organizations out there that thousands of webmasters trust, and they're partially relying on your product to do payouts. Let's see a site setup listing all of the programs that offer epassporte as payouts, let's see co-branded advertising.

Hell, why not pull an Intel Pentium move? Everytime you see a dell ad at the end up pops that little dobie-dobie-dobie music and that Pentium Inside logo.

Tell affiliate programs you'll pay X% of their advertising costs for print ads if they include the epassporte logo in the corner of it? "Blah Blah Affiliate Program Offers Epassporte Payouts" with your logo? Do that instead of independant ads, it'll help your reputability, while at the same time continue your branding efforts.

4. There are a bunch of features people have been asking for, for a loong time that there's no reason why you can't implement them. How about being able to see ALL transactions on the account instead of that stupid last 30 days muck, etc. etc.? Those are small developmental efforts that would give you huge returns with your userbase.

The list goes on and on. It's time Epassporte starts thinking out of the box, and stops doing what it's been doing, which obviously isn't at all effective. :2 cents:

You dodged the question, why do you post that image in every thread?
I really would like to know since it would give me a better understanding of how this board works.

I am who I am and when people like minusonebit goes on and on and on and on and on about the same thing, that they themselves were atleast partial responsible for I sometime post what I feel, I try to be polite and helpful but this is GFY and sometimes a polite response don't get the message across.

woj 08-26-2006 09:26 AM

Nothing will be fixed/improved until some new competitor enters the adult payment market... Once that happens, we will see monthly feature additions and other improvements, instead of "epass girl of the month" threads... but I don't really blame them for the way things are, they run a monopoly here, have everyone by the balls, and can do pretty much whatever they want and people will still continue using them...

I'm not trying to bash them here, just stating the reality of the whole situation...

I post the image because it's funny, plain and simple. It's good for a little chuckle. No big alterior motives, no long thought process, it's just funny.

Why the fuck did an Owl become the international symbol for Orly? Who knows, who cares, it's funny and people run with it.

Don't get caught up in the minutiae and look at the larger picture with a pair of fresh eyes.

And truth be told, if I was Epassporte, that's EXACTLY what I would be worried about.

No matter who starts a new service, no matter how feature rich it is or isn't, right now there would be a mass exodus from Epassporte to the new company. Why? Because the new company isn't Epassporte.

If I were Epassporte right now, I'd be working HARD on my public image, so that it's rock solid, which would make a 3rd party think loooong and hard about making a big investment to start up a new service. And if a new service did start up, I'd have customer loyalty on my side. :2 cents:

EXACTLY RIGHT!

I come from a mainstream business background, the last company that I owned was acquired by a NASDAQ traded tech firm.

When I first got into adult, this board scared the living SHIT out of me. Was this the type of thing that I had to deal with to do business in the industry?

I spent months just reading this board and others, before I got into posting, and building a persona for myself so that I could eventually have products marketed and branded effectively.

I'm nothing in real life like I am on here, and I'm nothing on other boards like I am on here. You have to understand the nature of the environment you are working in, plain and simple.

And LAWDS MERCY now I'm Teh Thexy BoyAlley! And GURL does it ever work for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for this thread boyalley, i think i will bump my "fuck epassporte" thread, so maybe it can be resolved... because you know, it shouldn't take 30+ days to credit me the money they took out of my bank account when creating an account with them, then delete it because of "no money loaded"....

Personally, I think it would be money well spent for your organization to hire an image consultant or bring in someone to take a fresh look at branding a better face to your corporate identity.

I think such an effort would more than pay for itself. :2 cents:

good advice gay boy

:2 cents:

Employ BoyAlley :thumbsup, this is all good advice and for free too.

I was going along with everything you had to say, up until this. That would be a total waste of money and would make me think that these guys were without a clue.

The BBB has about as much authority as the BSA.

They cant join the BBB regardless. They have an unsatisfactory rating for unanswered complaints. And yyou are right about the BBB being a waste.

Ahaha. I just found this. Thank you for the kind comments sir, I really appreciate it.

I can be a prick at times but when it comes to customer service, I'll do whatever I have to do to ensure that the customer is happy. Customer feedback is great, positive or negative, and I love it. It gives us ideas on how to improve our service so the next customer receives an even better experience. If I constantly received the same complaints from customers I would know that something really needs to change, and fast. If not, I know that not only will I have an unhappy customer but they'll most likely run to the next hosting company that WILL accommodate their needs.

Another great example of why competition is good for the consumer.

BTW... i have never had a problem with my epass.
