How do you disable the seatbelt alarm on a new car?
Anyone know how to disable the seatbelt alarm in a new car.
I just got a new Chrysler 300 the other day and the damn seatbelt alarm goes off if your not wearing it. |
go to a junk yard...buy a sit bet, cut just the part to stick it in your seat bealt socket :-)
you should always wear your seatbelt venus
pay someone who knows about cars to ground the wire for the seat belt catch..
Varies per car of course... On my last car I just started it up and let the thing beep away, and felt around under the dash until I could tell where the buzzing was come from... It was just a pair of wires plugged into the speaker, and very easy to just pull out.
If you're really desperate you can just unbolt your seatbelt clip, cut the wires there, and cross them. |
alot of the times too they will have a seperate relay that has the "dinger" on it that you can just pull

haha the suggestions some of you guys are making are crazy. cutting wires? the set beat beeping is programmed into the cars computer system just take it to a dealer they'll hook it up to a laptop and disable the beeping for you. you can also as them for a print out of all the other preset options you can turn on and off.
seatbelt = modern day darwinism. not smart enough to wear a seatbelt, hopefully not smart enough to breed.
You better get that disabled right away. I mean you wouldn't want that annoying alarm to distract you and cause an accident while driving without a seatbelt. :laughing-

Oh it's the Chrysler 300? Nope, no good. If you try to disable the seatbelt preset by messing with the wiring it automatically delivers you a mild but convincing shock.
It's enough to make your bladder empty uncontrollably. I wouldn't chance it. |

i do suggest wearing your seatbelt cause if you get in an accident the car will record your spend, and if your belt was on. pretty much all mid to high end cars do that now. just in case you try to sue the car company |

the door option is an option, but im pretty sure that the seatbelt warning is mandatory. also on most cars now they use the belt catch to tell if someone is in the seat. obviously if the car is moving there is someone in the driver seat, but the air bags react differently if they are or are not wearing their seat belt. they also use the passenger seat belt catch to tell if someone is there to arm the passenger air bag too. |

easy solution: wear the seatbelt!
Just wear your seatbelt. Period.
who knows here, just turn on your music loud!
seems like you don't like annoying sounds, just like noisy granny?! joke ^_^ \/ |
most parts stores can plug into your computer so you can avoid the dealer. amazing what you can get the guy at "joe's auto parts" to do for a $20.
sealt belt alarms are annoying. i never drive anywhere with mine off but it isnt because of some alarm. |
just put on your seatbelt...
why would you want to do that? to increase the chance of killing yourself or to lower the resale value?
you will get used to it and sometime you just dont hear that beep..but man, just do not drive without wearing seatbelt's.
find someone around the way....
In most cars all the buzzers are controlled by the same fuse. Just yank it out and you'll kill the seatbelt/light/keys/open door, and all the other annoying shit they have these days.
very easy to turn off.
