Fuck Epassporte and CITGO

I had no money on me, stupid of me i know. I was stuck to use my epass card to pay for gas even though i never wanted to use epass, well the fucking CITGO put a 50 dollar hold on my money so i called epassporte and said how long it would take to released back to my account and they told me 7-10 business days and now its been 11 business days and now of course i am mad! I Call epassporte back and now they say it will take 30 business days. WTF? if i knew this originally i would of just claimed fraud which only takes 7-10 business days.

So fuck epassporte for still being fucked up lieing assholes, and fuck citgo for putting a hold on my money. :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY

Thats epassportes minimum. The reason they do that is a gas pump only charges 1.00 to the card on most cards in order to fill the tank. This can allow you to overdraw your account. Epass is just protecting their best interests on this one Joel.

xdcdave 12-06-2006 04:39 PM

30 business days? lol jesus, I can get international third party starter checks cleared faster than that.

Thats fine sticky but they should of stated that the first time i called instead of lieing to me.

Chris 12-06-2006 04:44 PM

oh i think you just suck at reading an FAQ

https://www.epassporte.com/secure/ep...q=faq#extopic4

Why do I have a $50 authorization on my account when I haven't purchased $50 in fuel?

When you use your Visa Electron card to make a fuel purchase at the pump, we will authorize your transaction for US $50, as we do not know how much fuel you intend to purchase. These authorizations are removed from your account when the actual fuel purchase amount is received from the gas station merchant, usually within 7 to 10 business days.

KNOW THE SERVICE YOU ARE USING BEFORE YOU USE IT SO YOU DONT NOT MAKE FALSE THREADS TRASHING A COMPANY FOR YOUR OWN GOD DAMN PROBLEM

edgeprod 12-06-2006 04:44 PM

... it's $50, right? Or am I misunderstanding?

mx8829 12-06-2006 04:45 PM

epassporte is messedup , I can't load funds from my bank account , first they claimed it was my bank , when I check then they said they were going through an update, later when I checked this week they say it takes 7 to 10 business days... so I think next will hear from them is 30 days , ...damn suckers

you understand correctly :P
wish i could fill up for 50

DutchTeenCash 12-06-2006 04:56 PM

do they do

I think its even in their TOS or on the page somehow, another reason not to use your epass to get gas.

And yes it sucks I totally agree.

Then why all the bitching? Over $50? What if someone had made a thread about this like HIS company?

Example:

Someone orders a server. The hardware vendor is late with the shipment, so even though SI promised 7-10 days, now it might be more like 30, through little to no fault of their own.

Machete_ 12-06-2006 05:04 PM

joel you are good with servers, but should never be allowed outside the NOC, let alone speak on topics like this.

Epassporte Rules!!!! its not their fault you cant read the terms. Sometimes I have shops that doublecharge my card, but Epassporte always have that cleared with Visa in 7-20 days

youre right, but its not the amount but the situation. Its like ordering a bottle of Cristal then finding out your wallet is at home and your friends are brokeass.

I hate situations like that. I double double check if I have cash on me when I fill up my car here, esp with gas prices here.

Sure, but when that happens, do you run around saying, "FUCK CRISTAL!" ??

lol no normally I don't

Gotta say basically never happens cause I just wont allow myself to get into situations like that

Furious_Male 12-06-2006 05:56 PM

It works both ways. I have went well over $50 before and my epass account was only debited the $50 for several days until the total amount cleared.

Its not a real big deal. I put $50 even in every time I go to the pump now so its easier to balance my epass account.

Chris STFU even though i failed to read the FAQ does not mean I should have been lied to on the phone. When I called they said 7-10 buisness days and no longer. Also that should not be in the FAQ that should be well stated when you sign up. People normally do not read an FAQ untill something goes wrong.

woj 12-06-2006 06:19 PM

all this over $50 and being 1 day late? heh

split_joel 12-06-2006 06:20 PM

OH and I just realized something!!!!! I went up to the cashier and told him how much gas i wanted to spend, therefor they know how much i put on it, which makes epass a bunch of fucking assholes and citgo as well.

50 dollars is alot of money when you live in san diego, have a pregnet fiance, and your own bills to pay, and not running your own buisness.

Not everyone is a boller like you :winkwink:

milan 12-06-2006 06:24 PM

LOL $50.00 that's it :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I went to Vegas and used it @ the nine steakhouse at the palms... they charged me the real amount for $700.00 and put a hold for $950 for 30 days... ePassporte suck BALLLLLLSSSSSSS :321GFY

Would you accept that excuse if it was someone complaining about SI?

I hate to break it to you, but this happens with regular credit cards at restaurants all the time.

Not to be an asshole here, but this isnt epassportes fault. its mentioned in detail in their FAQ and citgo and a few other gas stations put signs up on their gas pumps mentioning this fact. You can probably have the hold released if you call citgo's billing department and get them to contact epass to release the hold. It's citgo's hold thats on the cards, not epassporte's.

DateDoc 12-06-2006 07:13 PM

At Citgo and Chevron epass never works for me. All I ever get is a 30 day hold on $50 every time I try. My epass also no longer works at Wells Fargo ATMs. It used to but no more. A message pops up saying I need to contact the card issuer but I can go to a Bank of America ATM just down the street and get money out right away. Seems Wells Fargo has blocked the use of epass cards in it's ATM machines.

V_RocKs 12-07-2006 08:14 AM

If I had done it...

Walk into the gas station, use the ATM, pay for the gas out of the $300 I received at the ATM.

Boobs 12-07-2006 08:40 AM

yep thats in their TOS

and gas stations

EP isnt doing anything the big credit companies do

Klen 12-07-2006 10:29 AM

Well i think for normal paying is better to use normal card, use epassporte only for withdraw money from ATM.

LiveDose 12-07-2006 10:42 AM

30 days... Oiy!

DaddyHalbucks 12-07-2006 10:55 AM

"The Venezuelan state owns Citgo, a chain of 14,000 gas stations and eight refineries throughout the U.S., which is a subsidiary of its state-owned oil company PDVSA."

SmokeyTheBear 12-07-2006 11:00 AM

as pointed out the 7-10 days is normal but for me it always takes 30 days..

I think what joel is mad aboute more is the fact they lied to him , not the 7 days.. the 7 days sucks but getting told its 7 days when its really 30 bites..

Read thru what he wrote , it wasnt the 7-10 days that pissed him off , it was he was told 7-10 days then after 7-10 days was up they had a new answer "30 days"

Would you be a bt pissed if you were told something would be ready in 7-10 days and it took 3 times that long .. ?

Mechanic- Sorry pornopete you car needs to be in the shop 7-10 days

Prnopete - OK

7- 10 days later ...

Pornopete - Hi im here to pick up my car

Mechanic - come back in 20 days

Pornopete ; OK

hmm that scenario doesnt seem likely.. unless there was some extraordinary circumstances that required it to change to 30 days ( i.e. a missing part etc )

Okay speaking from experience and knowledge as to how gas station POS systems work _ALL CARDS_ get pre-authorized for $50 when you pay at the pump. This is standard procedure. The gas station does this, not e-pass.

The CRIND (Card Reader IN Dispenser) does not know how much gas you are going to dispense so it authorizes you for $50, you pump and it charges you. You will not be able to pump more than $50. This would happen with _ANY_ Credit Card you use.

If you don't want to get preauthorized and have your money locked don't be so lazy next time and walk inside to pay.

No thats not true. Ive used paypal at pumps for years, and it only authorizes for 1.00. I know this, because Ive filled my tank with only 2 dollars in my account on many occasions. :winkwink:

The release time is dependent on the company initiating the charges, not epass. 7-10 days is the norm, but it can take as long as 30 if the company doesnt reverse the charges. At 30 days Epass overturns the charges.

bl4h 12-07-2006 11:21 AM

It sucks, but its in the FAQ and the terms. Thats why i never use the card for gas. i read this in the terms
