Anyone still use a home phone?
What's the point now a days?
heck no.
no way. i havent in prob 3 years. i barely even use my vonage phn nowdays
hah what a joke
Is that what they call a land line? They still have those?
Yep.. Where I live (small town) the cell reception sucks and given how often the storms take out the power, it's the only way I can make calls during that time (like to find out when they're going to fix the problem).
I still use my home phone... It doesn't get all hot when I talk on it for long periods of time.
:2 cents: |
got rid of mine over three years ago
Yep. I don't have a cell. :-)
I do, but it's not a traditional line; it's VoIP. I find it useful to have another calling option for 3 reasons:
1. My cell phone (Sprint) doesn't always get great service. 2. VoIP direct international dialing rates are much cheaper than cell phone international plans, especially to foreign cell/mobile numbers. I don't like jumping through calling card hoops. Calling cards suck!:321GFY 3. 3rd benefit is the speaker phone is better quality:thumbsup for when you have to call places that require u to hold, which I hate! I also have a USA cell and a foreign tri-band for travel, but even though it's not my main phone contact anymore, a land line still has its place. If you think you're too cool to use a land line: :321GFY |
Home phones are more dependable... :2 cents:
VOIP, take it with me whereever i live.

I agree home phones are more dependable, unfortunately you have to be home to use them...
I stopped using the phone about 4 years ago. Now I only e-mail, IM and answer to smoke signals in the sky.
Home and business still on landlines. When cell phone techology is perfected (especially indoors) I'll drop my landlines. Nothing more annoying than dropped calls and dead air...

http://www.mrgadget.com.au/www/blogi...h_headset1.jpg I haven't had a land line in over 4 years. With 1000 anytime minutes, unlimited long distance, unlimited nights and weekends... seriously, what is the point. |

I'm still afraid of the telephone
I haven't had a land line in about three or four years. I have two cell phones and my Skype phone.
well i still use it.
I have one. Is that a problem to have one nowadays ?
I keep mine, mostly since its butt ass cheap and the safest for emergencies.
Yes one is even non cordless. |
i use skype when i'm at home
Only for incoming calls. But planning to cancel it..
My grandma does :1orglaugh
Of course...
How else am I supposed to leave the Matrix? |
I have VoiP and landline phones at home.
Why not? Costs f*ck all and doesn't hurt to have the option, as previously mentioned, in case of emergency. The VoiP and Skype are mainly used for international calls. The landline is mostly for abusing telemarketers! ;) |
