I will keep this short - I'm american yes and my time at home was great......However, the whole time I was there " 4 months 5 days" I would say to family and friends, yes it's great here but I sure don't want to be here for the Next Terror Attack. Well sure enough the day I'm flying back to Budapest I have a lay over in Heathrow London were I first here about the Worst blah blah blah...killing spree.............What the Fuck America WAKE UP

I really don't know what to say other than My Country is for the most part a bunch of Crazy, Fat, Greedy, Gun Shooting Nuts.

I was walking down the street today, and some guy covered with tattoos and missing half his ear came running out with a flame thrower, and a rocket launcher one on each shoulder. Sure, we've got problems here. Sure, there's plenty of violence. Sure, we confuse blind nationalism for patriotism sometimes, but we do mean well, even if we wield our formidable power clumsily and carelessly from time to time.

When you speak of 'all the violence' though, put it in the context of the size of the country and its population.

People forget how largely populated America is and its unique history. Are there problems? Yes. Though I think the death toll in Russian and German regimes of the recent past far outweigh any violence we see in America, not to mention the gun violence in some of those no-gun nations. Should we harp on that fact too? No, because it's senseless.

I don't understand the contradictory view of those who will shout out just how corrupt and tyrranical our government is and how it's taking away our rights (recall the Patriot Act threads), yet at the same time will advocate that citizens relinquish owning guns. If one truly believes a government is constantly overstepping its bounds against individual liberties, will taking away any realistic means of fighting back help or make things even worse.

Plenty of news reports say that this kind of things don´t happen in South Korea.
