Hillary Clinton wants 10 billion $ to start kids in school at 4 years old

wtf , no thnks

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070521/...inton_children

what a waste,..

IllTestYourGirls 05-21-2007 03:35 PM

Taxes going up incomes going down and the politicians just want more and more of our money

pornguy 05-21-2007 03:40 PM

I think she should get the 10 billion for the schools. but leave the age at what it is now.

fetishblog 05-21-2007 03:41 PM

And this is new how?

I was 4 when I started school, 26 years ago.

tranza 05-21-2007 03:42 PM

Uhmmm.... How much do you guys spend with militaries?

kristin 05-21-2007 03:42 PM

Um... I was already in kindergarten by age 4.

I planned on putting my 3 year old in pre-school this year.

xclusive 05-21-2007 03:45 PM

Yeah it's bad to educate kids better, Something needs to be done and this is far from the perfect solution but it's a part of it. They also need to have some rules and enforce them as to the quality of the schools and hold teachers responsible. If a teacher is not doing a good job it's very hard to fire them thanks to the teachers union. We need to look after our kids and make sure they have all the tools they need to succeed. If a teacher needs to go it should be an easy process. I've seen my share of teachers that are not doing the job they are paid for.

woj 05-21-2007 03:55 PM

The number sounds huge, but that's pennies compared to cost of for example war in Iraq, according to www.costofwar.com, the war in iraq cost the US 428 Billion so far...

Why would anyone have a problem with preschool? I started when I was 3 or 4. The US is so far behind the rest of the world in education.

EBORG9 05-21-2007 04:23 PM

It's not the first 4 years of school that are failing our youth, it's the last 4.

If you want to put them in school to make up for idiot parents, just put them in state sponsored school for their entire youth, with housing and everything, and call it our Olympic Team

Lee 05-21-2007 04:26 PM

Whats up with starting kids at 4?

I only knew the US didnt because Ive encountered a couple of US kids in our schools that are way behind and have to move down a year or two.

notabook 05-21-2007 04:41 PM

Both my niece and nephew started school at 4... what's wrong with wanting to get kids started early? Ten billion is peanuts compared to how much this illegal war is costing, and starting school earlier would surely show better results than what this 500 billion dollar war has shown.

If you put a lib in office, that is what you will get. haha

More government programs to control people and make them depend on the government more.

$4 Billion so the government can control 4 year old kid's educations instead of letting the parents control their own kids. Typical socialist thinking that lady has.

And of course I cannot post anything about Hillary without bringing to the plate that she would LOVE to control what is put on the Internet AND she loves the N.O.W. who, by the way, thinks Victoria's Secret ads are discriminating to women. Gee, I wonder what her plans, beliefs and ideas will do to the Adult Industry! LOL Not to mention she is a scorned woman who was publicly humiliated by her husband having a wondering eye (and fingers haha)

Drake 05-21-2007 04:54 PM

At what age do kids enter school now?

Exactly but its funny that you still think the republicans are conservatives, for small government, low spending, etc... The leading republicans will endorse Hilary's plan.. just watch..

I considered voting for a republican once... then I found out about Fred Thompson... now I'm a racist, anti-semetic, anti-free thinking, gay bashing, abortion-bombing asshole. Oh and I plan to vote for Fred Thompson twice.

Let me know if you run across any good bumper stickers for him. I havent looked yet though. :) :)

i think a 4 year old is just wasting that year waiting to enter the public education system - he/she is pretty much just watching cartoons that year and sponging off his/her parents. they are able bodied at that age, sturdy and strong, have good communication skills - I say put them to work for that year, some kind of community service, manual labor, nothing too strenuous, picking up trash or putting stuff in boxes/envelopes.

just like 18 year old kids who take a year off before entering college to work better appreciate college afterwards I think a year in the workforce for a 4 year old will help them appreciate what a great opportunity the next 12 years are for him going to school.

Considering a child's mental capacity/makeup is mainly developed around the 1 to 4 age level, prior to starting any formal education - sounds sensible.

On the flipside, does this give a clue as to why there are so many idiots around who hit back to a base political level - like they have a clue?? :winkwink:

i was 4 yrs old in kindergarten and i turned out ok...although i am an adult model and webmaster lol

Damn true Mutt - they all need to spend a year of military service :winkwink:

Sure ya did Mandy and it prob was a benefit - but don't make the adult modeling and webmaster sound like an apology - there is no need :thumbsup :winkwink:

baddog 05-21-2007 06:27 PM

She calls it pre-school, I call it government subsidized child care.

IllTestYourGirls 05-21-2007 06:57 PM

For the record Bush has given more money to schools than any other president in history. Local government is failing not federal.

At present, our military budget is $437 billion. By and large--there is some overlap of course--this is independent of spending on iraq and afghanistan.

SabrinaDeep 05-21-2007 07:17 PM

Sometimes i wonder what people make children for, when they pretend to leave them 10 hours a day at pre-school since the age of 3. No wonder that most families have no influence on their children whatsoever, nowdays.

Not so much :winkwink:

Around $439 billion officially plus an estimated black budget of anywhere between $40 billion and $1.5 trillion at the highest level. Some analysts average the truth to be around $650 billion.

On the subject of truth... this is hard to establish since there is no accountability - it's called being a democracy :winkwink:

This represents around 50% of total world spending on "defense". Obviously there are a lot of enemies to defend against :-)

Jimmy Rock 05-21-2007 07:23 PM

Better than spending over 80 billion on a bullshit war

SmokeyTheBear 05-21-2007 07:26 PM

sorry i should have elaborated . i certainly dont think supporting education is a bad idea, they should be throwing twice what they throw on the military into education.

but sadly this isn't the case. throwing much needed funding into something that is already done on most levels is silly..

She spoke of creating kids who wont be a burden on the welfare system later in life.. 4 year olds are not where the problem is lol.

lack of education funding seems so silly to me.. its actually a quite FAST return on your investment , invest in kids and they will pay back in TAXES in 20 years or less.

she should be focusing on the other end of the spectrum.. is all i was trying to say..

What do you think has already happened? Liberal, democrat, conservative, republican, it doesn't matter these days. They're all socialist, anyone who thinks Bush is conservative needs their head examined.

If you want a real conservative, look up Ron Paul. :thumbsup

I agree pelethink spendingmoney on education is waste. Well not if it get peole off welfare. Then it SAVES money. When kids in inner city schools go to schools that haven't been fixed up since the early 70's, don't have enough books to go around, can't get decent teachers because of the the enviroment. Then it's no wonder they don't get a decent education. Rich schools ina rea with high property values don't need federal tax $$$. Those kids already get great educations. And if some kid goes to school there and doesn't get one then he's just a fucking retard lazy motherfucker loser.

Xplicit 05-21-2007 11:29 PM

God I pay this feminist bitch doesn't even get the nomination.

You can put your kids in school when they're 3 in Spain, 20 kids to a class.
