How about free hosting tech support, no matter the hosting company.

Thats right. I have been around Hosting for 10 years now and know the worst thing the customers go through. no one seems to have great support at night. So for the month of march I am offering free hosting tech support. No obligation, offer good from 8 pm wst to 6 am wst on weekdays. I do not care who you host with. just contact me so I know who you are and I will unleash my staff on your issues.

Ycaza you know I do not have any issues with you, I think your a cool guy but out of all people why would you go and post something like that?

We have excellent night staff including myself at nights. I understand what your saying maybe most host's do not but please do not just go out there saying no one has good night support.

Thx peace

just for the month of march..

and joel this is not aimed at anyone in particular, but if people are dissatisfied with the support they get, I am here to help.

SplitInfinity 03-14-2008 02:24 PM

Let's match that offer Joel.
Give the public some redundancy for good wills sake.

I think it's pretty lame you not only try to jack Ycaza's thread, but also his very unique idea :2 cents:

Brujah 03-14-2008 03:10 PM

Ah. I was just wondering if you guys were offering services like EasyServerManagement.com does for a monthly fee or by project, etc.. for people who are hosted with unmanaged servers.

candyflip 03-14-2008 03:12 PM

Definitely going to keep that in mind, though your old buddies at OC3/PacficRack are doing a good job so far.

candyflip 03-14-2008 03:14 PM

Ha ha ha. I just noticed that it's from 11 PM to 9 AM here on the east coast. :1orglaugh

this is not pointed at anyone in particular, I am offering a service to people that feel they don't get enough help. every host has a great day guy, I got those too, but I have heard enough complaints from people over my 9 years in the isp hosting business, that I know there is a need. If I can help them, I will. if everyones support is great at that time, then who has to worry? I will have no one to help and my night people can be bored. thats wtf. no dirty pool, no tellin people lies, no bullshit, no underhanded motive. free help, to anyone. nights, on weekdays. shit if I were needing help at night as a hosting customer, I would take me up on it, wouldn't you?

SplitInfinity 03-14-2008 05:15 PM

And all I did is offer redundancy to his great idea, which any good host should offer anyway. :-)

You know even if ycazza's idea is kinda strange and off the wall you guys really take the cake when it comes to low class bottom feeders.:Oh crap

Brujah 03-14-2008 08:06 PM

Are other hosting companies afraid their clients will appreciate better support than they get at "home"?

It's easy to offer extra additional support for potential customers when trying to pull them over from another company. The true test is whether or not that support stays once you are a customer and actually need help.

Oh, I agree. Whether or not it persists will remain to be seen if anyone moves to a new host and tries it out.

Same thing when companies offer specials to get you in the door. Existing old and long-term customers aren't offered the same deals and get stuck with a grandfathered deal that costs them more for much less. Many of them do this.

What do you have to lose, if you aren't already getting adequate support or in at least one situation apparently, any support at all? Try a new hosting company and see if it's the right fit.

If your company does its job well why be threatened by this thread?

No one is "threatened by this thread"... just a dialog about the statement "no one seems to have great support at night" so what, we can't respond a thread now without looking "threatened"?

imabro 03-14-2008 09:01 PM

ten years experience but no buy link on site

Right, because we need to spice this thread up with innuendos to make it more fun. :)

woj 03-14-2008 09:21 PM

interesting offer there :thumbsup

right on...some dumb goof with no experience enters the business with the cheapest host possible and a few months later he gets an offer from a premium host to match their very low price...which is a price far lower than i am paying...

that's what i was thinking...

TidalWave 03-15-2008 12:12 AM

well, i for one am not worried. just do a search on pacificrack here on GFY or webhostingtalk to see how we maintain our support quality even long past when you first signed up :)

the only real reason that a host wouldnt have good night time support is A) bad management or B) cant afford it YET
