Best CMS?

any good CMS out there?

I like the new member area CMS for the nastydollar sites and the fuckyoucash sites.

Looking for something similar.

PornDiscounts-R 04-05-2008 05:02 AM

hmm, I dont know it, but i would think ND could very well be custom.

Useless Warrior 04-05-2008 06:48 AM

I'd like one that generates static HTML pages and has a scheduling feature for content release/rotation. Of course, I also want that for under $50. :)

That would be MAS. Multiply the $50 by a hundred, and it's yours.

Itchy 04-05-2008 09:30 AM

I love my copies of MAS
http://www.mansionproductions.com/mas/

Jake 04-05-2008 10:34 AM

You can't go wrong with MAS. It's an incredibly versatile CMS that can do just about anything you can dream up. More importantly the guys at Mansion offer support that is second to none!

Gerco 04-05-2008 10:50 AM

MAS works and does so solidly, I have had it running my site for 4 years now. Still don't know how to really do anything with it, so I have to have the guys over at mansion do any changes etc. For someone that doesn't know anything but really basic html and what I hack my way though with dreamweaver it's way over my head, but a solid CMS.

I do wish it supported h.264 video and had a built in player, as I would like to move all my video to it, but other than that I would ahve to give it the nod.

I wish my microwave played DVDs, but that's not it's job.

JW FLV can do it, and I'm sure that Ross is more than capable of getting you setup to do so; for a hybrid solution we've been working on; he's got it displaying flash, or wmv, depending on context. All you need to do is start encoding both ways, and pay for some development time.

I'm sure that it can be done, I'm also sure that Ross can do it, I have already talked to them about developing it, in fact I have had stuff custom developed buy them in the past that became standard features in later releases. I just said, I WISH it was a working and INCLUDED feature now... so I DON'T have to have something created from scratch.

As I noted, I've already had the basis done for both flash, and other formats playable; I'm sure this is a common request. It's already done; it just needs to be adapted for your use.

I'd also like to have an embeddable player that worked for every format under the sun; hell, I'd buy it.

FelixFlow 04-05-2008 11:11 AM

have you looked at www.sitedepth.com ??

I agree, but that's also not what I said or what I'm looking for. in my case I want to simply encode all my existing content to h.264 and only offer h.264 in my members area. So I'm not looking for something that can play all formats, just this one. Currently I only offer the WMV format. I wouldn't think this would be that big of an issue. I have over 400 hours of video in my members area and I just thing going to h.264 would be a good move.

Well, what you want then is to pay for someone to re-encode all of your content, and just have the flash player installed into your MAS.

Since MAS can support multiple templates for movies based upon the file type (which I required), you can do it in stages, so you won't have any downtime; some movies will use the (new) embedded flash player, some will continue to embed the WMV, which was the reason for my suggestion.

I'll have to ask them again about it. As far as re-encoding the content... I have 3 Macs that can sit and batch encode using a program called Episode so not really an issue, fact my plan is to re-encode from DV anyways and actually do a little editing as I go this time... :)

I doubt you will find anything for $50. ElevatedX is another one that I've heard generates static files but it's definitely not $50.

vittle 04-05-2008 05:56 PM

ElevatedX is the other one I've heard good things about. Just couln't remeber the name. I emailed them a week ago for a demo but no response.

Jace 04-05-2008 05:58 PM

if you can't afford more than $50 for a cms to run a paysite, don't open a paysite or go back to work at mcdonalds

anything worth a shit is AT LEAST $600 up front, and can run anywhere from $100-250 monthly

NN_Matt 04-05-2008 06:01 PM

mas is a great product.

$tandaman 04-05-2008 06:21 PM

You can check out www.ThePaysiteCMS.com

We can create those kind of member functionality that you are talking about, as a matter of fact we are in the process of creating 'reality site skin'.

Contact me for details and our new licensing options.

I respond to all the demo requests personally, usually within 24 hours so it's likely that either your request or my reply got caught by a spam filter.

We can do everything you're looking to do and more.

If you still want to see the system please contact me directly via ICQ or call me at 1-800-690-9277

Limited sense of humor? Did you people honestly think that I was looking for a top of the line CMS for $50? Cranky, insulting douche bags.

rofl, well, man, we are on gfy, where everyone want a $19 content package with 20,00 videos in it, so a request such as yours isn't that unbelievable

same way people constantly come on here asking how to create a paysite cms from joomla

Miguel 04-06-2008 05:00 AM

check out awiz paysite manager
they have cheap and funñtionable one

en21 04-06-2008 05:15 AM

checkout www.joomla.org .. the biggest CMS in the world.. I have been using it.. very good and reliable

DO NOT USE AWIZ

unless you like broken english manuals that barely tell you anything and broken english support that is snobby with you and point you to the manual like you didn't try and read it

in all honesty, I want my month back after trying to make it work right....hell, I actually think it is an amazing cms, I just never got far enough into creating my members area with it to ever know

they REALLY need to get some native english speaking support reps, and a kickass native english speaker to write a comprehensive manual for it

Fap 04-06-2008 11:08 AM

bump, im looking for some good ones too

Being cheap will cost you in the long run.

I agree that elevated x is a great product with great service.

I have nothing negative to say about it, and that's very unusual for me, perfectionist that I am. :winkwink:

Fizzgig 04-06-2008 11:38 AM

That sounds like a solid recommendation!

Fap 04-06-2008 11:41 AM

elevated x is also $4k.. expensive for a CMS

Considering the features and functionality of the system it's priced competitively.

We do also offer a lease option for a $500 setup fee and $150/month.

I have yet to have a client buy the cms or switch to our cms from another system and tell me they didn't think they were getting their money's worth.

4 or 5 of our users have posted in this thread already and nobody has complained about the value for the money...

That's about the same price as MAS or CARMA, which is their competition.

You can't really compare the price to the cheaper CMS's, it's like saying the Mercedes is too expensive at 50K because you can buy a Ford Focus for 10K.

I've tried a few of the cheaper CMS's out there and let me tell you, you get what you pay for. I'm still working on a program that I could have launched 6 months ago if I had ponied up the dough for elevatedx from day one.
