Stop sleeping on Newbies! (Warning To The "Old Timers")

Stop sleeping on Newbies!

Newbies evolve- while you older cats in the game still foster the same ideas, use the same systems, ploys and tactics. Making money only to waste it with trying to impress one another, spending more money and energies on unoriginal marketing ploys, un investigated advertising campaigns, and trying prove who's the biggest at the trade show.

While the newbies are poking away at new technologies- thinking bigger- better, faster-stronger. (1-2 people in a room doing the job of an entire staff)

It doesnt take an army to get rich anymore- Just 1 skilled mother fucker with a dream and a plan.

Before you know it you "Old Timers" are left in the wind- perplexed at how your sites have gone down 80% with no chance of resuscitation.

You can only continue to rob, manipulate, and extort from the newbies and ones with less know how and experienc before they catch on, and flip it on you. Then your business model is fucked! Who are you going to sell your unoriginal concepts to? And all the while- while your falling nobody will lend you a hand because you've fucked them all.

(Sort of like the US)

"Laugh- ohh no not me- Ohh that will never happen to me"

This is a warning to all you "Old Timers" and guys with 1,000,000 post on GFY.

The newbies are on the rise!... and they arent asking your permission for that #1 spot.... they're taking it!

$300,000 later and still a newb

RRRED 12-29-2008 02:48 PM

Good post. I've always said, todays newbie could be tomorrows "whale".... Seen it over and over and over. Newbies are often the ones we can learn the most from.

seeandsee 12-29-2008 02:48 PM

i like newbies (virgins especially) :)

Smut 12-29-2008 02:50 PM

So, you poked away at this ground-breaking new technology?
http://xzye.com/

Interesting. I've never heard of an adult search engine. How does it work?

Smut 12-29-2008 02:52 PM

Oooh, and this one is pretty cool too:
http://www.adultlinkexchange.com

Link Exchange for adult sites! Woooah! I am flabbergasted by your genius! How can I learn to do these things? I am a newbie myself.

I was once told a long LONG time ago by an old wise guy to always be cautious at shows when talking to people and treat each individual as an equal because it is true that the new guy in town could be the next big thing. I personally don't care if your a huge company making millions or a single guy making a few bucks a month on the side....we all live and breath the same air and deserve the same opportunities. Best of luck to all newbies and congrats to all the old schoolers who have managed to last as long as they have. It's a big world out there.......I'm sure there is enough room for all of us who strive to be the best that we can be. Alright, I'm rambling now. LOL

Ahhh but your arrogance blinds you to the truth... The success of a newbie is only gained from climbing on the backs of the "Old Timers" who have laid out all the ground work and formed the foundation, prior to that you were nursing your thumb while riding their coattails.

You didn't invent the wheel you merely upgraded it and if it hadn't been for the old timers you wouldn't even HAVE a wheel to play with. You should show more respect for the "old timers" who created the industry you enjoy success in.

And most newbies I have run into in the last year are only interested in stealing others work and making a buck off it. Specifically tube owners and Girlfriend site owners.

Reading this made me think of "ROcky" running up the steps in Philly

if it wasn't for the old timers and how they did business the industry would be a MUCH better state than it is now....so fuck them

well....most of them

You must be kiddin.. What ground work have they laid.. Are u talking about all the free-shit swimming all over the web.. They should have organized this industry a longtime ago, when they made so much money... But nawww.. They are too focused on cutting out the competition, by starting larger tubes & attempting the shadiest practices ever.

Note: There are some good dudes out there.. But they are just too few.

Congrats, you're both fucking idiots... I am talking about the "old timers" that DID something for this industry BEFORE it started going down the shitter. Not sure how you're equating what I said to the entire playing field of the industry. I consider ONLY people who have been doing this awhile AND successful as old timers. I have been at this since 1998 and things were much different then, much BETTER.

These suppossed "old timers" YOU are refering to are actual noobs in my eyes and are the ones that started trashing our house. And from what I have seen the newbies of today aren't or haven't exactly been a boon or a godsend to the industry. The only thing they seem to succeed in doing is finding inventive new ways to scam the surfer or the content producers all the while attacking each other at will on message boards or the like. Not all the noobs but alot of them.

And as far as what ground work? Wake the fuck up... The old timers who champion our cause that allow us to do this for a living. For the people who started allowing us to process our businesses online through them and catered to our needs. All the old timers who set the bar or were willing to show what works and what doesn't, ie. experience.

There is not a single successful noob that didn't get help or advice from at least one old timer or someone else who did. I don't care how smart you are, you don't just say one day, "Hey, I think I will work in the Adult Internet Arena." And become a success without asking questions or reading a book that an "old timer" offered.

Agreed.

Most I have come across are lazy, do not have the first clue about business, how the internet and surfers convert, and want all the short cuts the 'old timers' learned the long, hard, costly way.

Fuck em.

Everyone has to start as a newb, but eventually moves up as skills progress.

lazycash 12-29-2008 09:44 PM

If being a newbie means making a thread bitching about how sexsearch hasn't paid you your $60 from two years ago, then I think I'll stick to being an old timer.

Ok.. maybe i did go a little overboard by generalizing all old-timers.. but at least, I still stated that a few of them were good.

Overall, whether you like to admit it or not.. The people that layed the foundation didnt do a good job of protecting the future of the industry. They were all just grabbing what they could get.. Call it new found riches, they were young OR watever... But the milk is spilt.. No need to cry.
All im saying is that, those that made so much money in the beginning could have regulated the industry & directed it differently.. In this world, its mostly monkey see & monkey do. New people entering the industry would have simply followed them,.. just as they have followed the paysite-selling-model that we still use today.

Anyways.. Argue responsibly.. No need to call people names cos u disagree :)
Goodluck with ur biz... And no disrespect to all the oldtimers.. Just my own drop of opinion.

after rereading gotta agree on some part but not all.

but in any industry, or line of work, the experience of incumbant players is quite an asset.....thats why you dont see 18 year olds running multi billion investment funds.....the experience is a crucial value.
