one of my friends is there on vacation in Medellin and he says its awesome..

hot girls, love americans and $50 a night for a 3 bedroom penthouse in the nicest part of town..

he says its very safe and the clubs there are great..

anyone live there ot been there and can offer an opinion?

i am going to go next trip in may..

its a great city i lived there for 6 months not too many tourists so as soon as the local women hear you speak english your golden;)

I don't but I've been there, and they are the most hotest girls on this planet..
the most beautiful of all latinas..(argentina, Costa Rica, Mex, etc.)
not only that but they are the most friendly and open minded about sex!

I remember the first time I went to Costa Rica and I had been surfing all day and was starving for some food. We went to a restaurant and it took forever to get waited on and I was about to go ballistic when my friends informed me that's just the way they do it.
Took a little adjusting but I was able go with the flow.

It is NOT as safe as you think, and the girls will cut your throat if they think they can get enough money for it.

i just read an article that the murder rate last year was only 39 per 100,000... same as some US cities..

i would def be cautious but i dont think its anywhere as dangerous as it was years ago..

No -- If someone dies, they may not get counted, if someone even knows about it. (i.e. shot in head and left in ditch). There are places in Colombia (kinda like "the jungle" in LA) where cops don't go...Too dangerous.

I agree that it's MUCH less dangerous than it used to be, but just be careful (like anywhere else in the world), because it's true what PornGuy said...

On a happy note, have fun! Colombia is freakin' amazing and the people are beautiful, welcoming and polite (despite the dangers caused by the pesky cocaine/guerilla war problems :Oh crap).
