XPays 04-14-2009 12:48 PM

notime 04-14-2009 12:50 PM

that's not nice

Carmine Raguso 04-14-2009 12:51 PM

I've trying to cancel my subscription to AVN for months now. I don't need their black plastic garbage bag wrapped pile of advertisements every month. It's usueless IMO. I should file a law suit against them for SPAMMING my PO Box

hypedough 04-14-2009 12:52 PM

That's fucking bullshit. Not making enough money on ads so now this? Seriously AVN, I love you guys but WTF?

Splum 04-14-2009 12:54 PM

Who cares, both you motherfuckers are irrelevant anyways.

Persius 04-14-2009 12:54 PM

WiredGuy 04-14-2009 01:08 PM

I realize XBiz/AVN may not want to comment on this, but who is Sara Sazzman? What was her role at AVN and what was she hired to do at XBiz?

Abbie 04-14-2009 01:09 PM

yeah non-competes pretty much are useless in this industry :) this tidbit was cited by a Judge in my case:

Adam X 04-14-2009 01:13 PM

frivolous lawsuit... against such a close company... sucks..

The Adult Broker 04-14-2009 01:13 PM

interesting how frequently these days people are calling others out about stealing and taking ideas. Unless I am mistaken, the industry has always had this Achilles heel to a degree-unfortunately just seems more overt these days be it true or not.

Has it ever happened to you?

Where for art thou band of porn brothers :( This is the time more than ever for the industry to work together.

good luck to both parties whom I've worked with for a long time.

scuba steve 04-14-2009 01:20 PM

Doesn't whether the person quit or got let go make a difference also?

RyuLion 04-14-2009 01:26 PM

Ava Knight 04-14-2009 01:37 PM

If there is in fact a non-compete clause in her prior contract, wouldn't it better serve your defense to not advertise yourself as a "rival" ?

Close to eight years at AVN, I believe, and pretty high up in the company, which probably means she has a LOT of information about its inner workings, etc.

I don't know any specifics about this lawsuit, but I do have a pretty good sense of how I'd feel if someone with detailed information about the inner workings of my company went to an aggressive direct competitor.

I don't know if this deals w/ a non-compete or other, and I'm guessing here, but I'd think that a sales person would be in position to try and bring clients from one company to another. Not sure if that's alleged or not, since AVN isn't the one who went public, but if it is, it's possible that this goes beyond just non-competes.

This is going to be interesting.
