To me the point of interest was the flowers with the bleached dead wood behind them.

SBJ 05-07-2009 06:23 PM

this thread title is confusing to me.

I think you need to add one more "pics" to the title and then it would be clear this thread would include pics :winkwink:

a few nice pics there :thumbsup

StuartD 05-07-2009 06:24 PM

Well, you've got the locations right, but you're going to need a better camera, filters, lenses.... but kudos on practicing. We've all gotta start somewhere :thumbsup

Great stuff Baddog. if you really want to take this to a higher level, consider learning some post processing techniques. I can recommend a few good educational DVDs that you can buy that will teach you how to take pics that look like that and make them masterpieces. Hit me up if you want more info!!!

stonehammer 05-07-2009 07:12 PM

i like the 1 where your shooting down and you can see the waves crashing against the rocks

Billionaire 05-07-2009 07:13 PM

Get a helicopter pansy

MandyBlake 05-07-2009 07:17 PM

very pretty pictures!

Peter Romero 05-07-2009 07:30 PM

For lanscapes put the cam on a tripod, then push the F-Stop as far as it will go to 22 if you can, then drag the shutter. It will smooth out the waves too and make em look like silk. Don't even bother hand held for landscapes. Trust me, I have one of the steadiest hands on stills and video and anything less than 1/60th of a second without a flash and it will lose detail because of blurr.

Love the orange flower shot BTW.

Miguel T 05-07-2009 07:34 PM

I like taking those the best. I like walking to the edge of the cliff to get it.

I was about to say the same thing... the pics look nice right now, but they don't really jump out at me like some of the wallpapers on InterFaceLift... if you can get these to look like that, then you've really got something... good luck :)

Pick a sunny day instead of a cloudy/foggy one and the pics get instant spark. And don't shoot through the windshield unless you have a polarizer :thumbsup

That look so good man, where is this

Sarah_Jayne 05-08-2009 05:48 AM

Nice practice pics. I have been going out with my digital camera lately and taking similar type of shots but I am having a hard time setting any good depth of field with its settings and it isn't a bad camera.

I love that shot and would love to learn how to do things like that. I feel I have an eye but not the skills yet and not sure where to start to learn more.

fris 05-08-2009 05:52 AM

going to need a better camera if you are going to be published

CIVMatt 05-08-2009 05:53 AM

Thanks for sharing the pictures, I always like seeing non-nude stuff here now and then, we really have a good crop of photographers with a natural interest in photography :)

Vicious_B 05-08-2009 06:07 AM

I really like this one.

The first ones are just across Golden Gate bridge. The ones from helicopter are Kauai.

you have the eye no doubt. Some nice pics. I would get a polarizer filter. It will help the ones where the colors are a little murky.
