Do you take the shampoo, tea bags, etc from a hotel home with you?

I nearly always take the left over tea bags or shampoo in a hotel room home with me. I feel a bit cheap every time I do it but I figure I paid for it. Do you take the 'freebies' home with you after a stay?

No......

escorpio 08-03-2009 04:30 AM

Yes, I take the shampoo and soap and sell them at the swap meet. I'm thinking of expanding operations to include light bulbs and toilet paper.

DutchMOFO 08-03-2009 04:32 AM

No...................

Lee 08-03-2009 04:37 AM

Nope but without fail I always swipe the pen for some reason, I just love hotel pens. They seem to have magical qualities that mean they never run out.

Gerco 08-03-2009 04:37 AM

Yes I do. I give them to my mother, who gives them to her church to send with missions. You would not believe how much of that crap people collect in her church and send away.

SGS 08-03-2009 04:40 AM

No never.

Cyber Fucker 08-03-2009 04:42 AM

uh... no...

Barefootsies 08-03-2009 04:44 AM

Soap and shampoo, yes. I usually give them to my sister, or another gf who likes that stuff, and reminds me before trips to bring that shit back.

No, you did not pay for it all. You paid for the hotel to make a selection avalible to you, that do not mean you are free to take whatever is left over with you home. Just like you cant fill bags with bread from the "free buffet" - but I guess that line of thinking was to much to ask of you.

It's people like you who also write a little extra on their insurance claims because "you figured you paid for it"

Here is a newsflash for you. You dident pay for it, but the next on in line behind you WILL pay for YOUR shit. You should team up with AnalHobbit, you will make a great team. The sad part is, he is trolling - you arent

bns666 08-03-2009 05:01 AM

Soaps, shampoos, minibar, etc ... I even take the lady from the hotel reception with me if she's young and good looking.

The Dawg 08-03-2009 05:52 AM

I used to, but I never used them so I stopped. Only place I kept & used them was the Ritz Carlton because the soap/shampoo were Bvlgari and that smells sooooooo good.

SykkBoy 08-03-2009 05:53 AM

If I've opened/used them, then yes...

Jesus Christ...

ask MaxCash to give you a $20 raise or something.

piskas 08-03-2009 06:04 AM

I leave a present instead of taking anything :)

CurrentlySober 08-03-2009 06:09 AM

I take the bed linen and duvet cover...

Tried disconnecting the toilet but it was too heavy to carry to the car...

Fletch XXX 08-03-2009 06:17 AM

umm, hell no. I dont even use that stuff. I bring my own soap and shampoo when I travel. My own towel too!

quiet 08-03-2009 06:20 AM

everything but tea bags, hell yes. i have guests up here all the time and we have an entire basket of stuff for them under the guest bathroom cabinet for them whenever they arrive. there has to be 60 plus items in there lol.

quantum-x 08-03-2009 06:36 AM

Wow. Seriously.
You steal teabags from hotels?

1) The quality is shit
2) If the quality isn't shit, you can afford to buy teabags

==

You enjoy stealing shit...

quiet 08-03-2009 06:39 AM

it's not stealing LOL, they are there for your own use. and i don't know what hotels you are used to staying at, but the four seasons and the fairmont have great teas. though i don't bother taking them, we have plenty of our own ;)

They are "free to use" not "free to take home"
Just like you cant fill bags with bread from the free buffet.

lol @ comparison

v4 media 08-03-2009 06:45 AM

tbags nope.. but the little gels and stuff come in useful when traveling.

The palace hotel in Madrid used to give you a lovely toilet bag full of stuff, I suppose at $500 a night they thought you deserved it.. It was full of freebies, probably the cosmetic companies used to supply them as a form of advertising.

i want some of what you are smoking lol. do you even travel? other than hostels?

quiet 08-03-2009 06:54 AM

you know you are bored when you are arguing about little shampoo bottles at 7 in the morning on gfy lol

tranza 08-03-2009 06:55 AM

I usually don't even use the hotel soap and shampoo. So there's no reason to bring them home.

But as Lee said, I also have a thing for hotel pens, and I almost ALWAYS take them home. I have no idea why I do that. Lol.

For the record, I don't know what's the big deal, and why some people are complainning about taking this stuff home. If I was going to use it, I wouldn't have a problem taking it home.

:2 cents:

That's a woman thing

WiredGuy 08-03-2009 06:58 AM

I make use of the thread and needle they provide in the rooms by sewing the drapes shut. You know, just to mess with the maids.

I wonder if Sarah has realized that nobody likes greedy fat people.

MediaManiac 08-03-2009 07:41 AM

well first i have to figure out which of the bottles is the shampoo.. it happened that i took the creme for shampoo..

Michael O 08-03-2009 07:52 AM

I agree on the pens Ritz Carlton have some pretty good ones.

Oh please. I have never stolen a thing in my life. Yes, it does come with the room. If you have a tea or coffee maker in the room and they leave like three tea bags or instant coffees that has come with the room. Now, if you put the coffee pot in your bag then that doesn't come as part of the price of the room.

As for shampoo..it isn't as if they just screw the lid back on and give it to the next guy.

their soap and shampoo sucks. i bring my own and dont touch theirs. besides, those bars of soap and shampoo are tiny anyway. you really go out of your way to take 10 cents worth the soap/shampoo?

That is true....my handbag usually has a hotel pen in it somewhere.

How is it going out of your way to put a bar of soap from the room you paid for into your suitcase? It isn't as if you are breaking into the maid's closet. I am more of a tea taker than a soap or shampoo taker, I will admit.

1 - They're not going to reuse them

2 - Essentially, you are paying for them. $200/night definitely covers your night, the maid service, breakfast, and whichever 10 cent shampoos they provide.

Someone needs to get their panties out of a bunch.
