:mad: I can't believe HBO canceled the SOPRANOS and DEADWOOD and THE WIRE to put on this fucking comic book cartoon vampire bullshit!

Everybody should cancel HBO from their subscription. If this thing gets an emmy this is nothing but politics!

The ratings for True Blood’s second season premiere on Sunday are in — and they don’t suck.
According to HBO, the bloody good episode averaged 3.7 million viewers, making it the pay cabler’s most watched original program since the series finale of The Sopranos two years ago. What’s more, the opener was up a staggering 157 percent over the season 1 premiere, and 51 percent over last November’s season finale.
Those are numbers you can really sink your teeth into, right?

True Blood drew record ratings on Sunday night, pulling in 4.5 million viewers (11.4 million if you include DVR and HBO On Demand).

The hit vampire series was slightly up from last week’s ep, which 4.4 million people watched on HBO.

sorry the sopranos just started sucking all by themselves and by the last season it was full on male foot tapping in the bathroom stall sucking. i feel you on deadwood and do feel cheated by maybe 1 to 2 more seasons to of wrapped it up since we know how it ends historically. i feel the wire had a great run and was a great show.
no need to hate on trueblood though. i personally can not fucking stand several shows on the cable channels like entourage, the david duchovny one, hung, and a few others. have no issues that they are on though. i figure different tastes for different people.
one thing i never did get though is why some people get happy when a show they do not watch or hate gets cancelled like say friends for instance. i just do not watch them and choose one of the other 100 channels but others much show delight and get all giddy.

True blood is a great show and Bush should have stayed in... baseball? ...or some shit...but yeah True Blood is some good shit :D

We have an obligation to get shows like True Blood and The View off the air. I can name a few others but right now I have nothing better to do for an hour and a half but to bash on True Blood while I wait for HUNG to come on LOL :1orglaugh

I actually enjoy this show, the books are pretty decent too.

I am just starting to get into True Blood. I still have some catching up to do on the story line, but I can tell it's going to be a fav series of mine.

I just picked up a used copy of the first season on Bluray this afternoon. I'll give it a shot for $20.

The Wire wasn't canceled. Season 5 was the last season, that was a decision made by David Simon, the creator of the show. There will never be anything as good on cable or anywhere else. I agree True Blood is a piece of shit though....

I agree, I liked OZ,they ended it and it wasnt dragged on for raitings. Now deadwood I was pissed I guess it was too expensive to shoot so it was shit canned.

Much as I hate this show, I must give credit to the dedication of the fan base. Anna Paquin sure made a good choice picking this franchise (Maybe if I were fucking her I could pretend I liked this show) and HBO is even marketing that fake gatorade blood shit (what a racket) :1orglaugh I just hope the geeky fangs don't get as popular as the spock ears with the trekies.

On a brighter note at least entourage has been a little better the last couple episodes.

I would place a large wager that HBO did not cancel any of those shows to put True Blood on.

While I think The Wire is the seconded greatest tv show ever (behind West Wing), Deadwood was mehh and Sopranos needed to end, all of these shows has run their course.

Trueblood is mindless entertainment, you don't like it then don't watch it, the little lady and I enjoy its campy humor

The writer is a little old lady living in a small town in southern arkansas. She's a few miles up from the Louisiana border. The show is sort of sensationalized compared to the books. At least someone should ask why every single book about Louisiana vampires is a huge hit???
