I have the Eotech 557 - just not pictured with the gun.

This gun is not legal in California so I have it up in Washington State :disgust

it come in a box in 3 pieces - very easy to put together. Takes about 30 seconds to a minute to assemble.

I got a great deal on it since a friend of mine gets me law enforcement discounts. :)

nice! i am not familiar with cali law for assault weapons other than i could not bring my bushmaster ar15 in when i moved, i thought perhaps a class3 or ccw permit would allow you to possess the weapon. i knew the mag was over limit.

anyhoo, have fun with that. i am not familiar with rock river, looks nice though

AaronM 01-28-2010 02:16 PM

FYI, I custom build AR-15's from scratch starting with the stripped lowers. Remember that for your next purchase, KRosh. ;)

PS, congrats on your new "toy."

California law says that if you have a pistol grip then it is an assault rifle, so you either have one without the grip or with a clip that can't be removed. Very strange.

Rock River just won the government contract over Colt. All law enforcement and military are switching over from what I have heard.

Here is the new DEA issue.

Damn, now you tell me? I had no idea. I am gonna talk to you about another one soon. :thumbsup

datatank 01-28-2010 02:23 PM

I thought they were banning them?
I had one almost exactly the same. I went to sell it to some gun store and he told me to keep it cause they will be all banned soon

Nice tool for sure. I had alot of fun with mine.
I think colt is better but rock river worked well

Let me know. I'm in the process of building 2 varmint/target rifles now. I'm also working on a new AR-10. I had a meeting with DPMS last week at the Shot Show and they are going to custom make me some one of a kind parts.

.308, maybe bigger.

The current AR-15 builds are .204 Ruger. You won't find anything like my builds on any retail shelf or website.

I just update a couple things on my carbine. Give me a few mins to take a pic and I'll post it.

Great for hunting wabbits.

AaronM 01-28-2010 02:55 PM

I already have a new/better flashlight for it but it's a brand new light and I'm waiting for them to finish the production of the mounts for it. Also going to swap out the sight for EOTech.

I knew Aaron had a nice collection of toys but this is a side of you I had no idea about! Kiss kiss Bang Bang Unky Karwash!

Amputate Your Head 01-28-2010 03:32 PM

Just curious, but what exactly is it you guys do with those things? Hang them on the wall and stare at them? I mean, when I went off to war, we used them to shoot at people in far away lands. But I don't see much need for one around here, unless you just like burning money of course.

I can only speak for myself when I say that I collect them.

It is a hobby for me and I like to target shoot. For some people it's collecting stamps, for me it's collecting guns and target practice
