Other Than WiredGuy....
.... who else has started moving into mainstream for the BULK of their online business?
I have read across the various boards that more people are splitting time between mainstream and adult, and either the EASE of the transition or the DIFFICULTY with so many more sharks chasing the same AdSense pennies. :helpme |
yes... solar energy right now

But to answer your question our landlord was being tough about getting out of the lease which he was already giving us a killer deal on... so last minute bail out :( |

ya thats a good question lol
i havent done any major corporate work since before 2000 but i am planning on picking up some mainstream projects this year. my reason is just to get some stress free hours of the day, rather than just dealing with porn scumbags all the time. i did a few teaser projects and mainstream traffic generation is a breeze after spending a decade in porn. |
There's no money in mainstream. Please keep doing porn. Thank you.

Last we had talked, you were looking to buy that fetish porn production deal there in Philly. So I was not sure if that had kept you busy and off the sauce or what? :winkwink: |

I have no plans to get out of adult unless I stop making money in adult, but all of my serious growth and work is now in mainstream.

I have... a growing part of my business is mainstream business. I have also tested a ton of mainstream products, programs, from ppc to mail..
It's easier to make money in porn, its easier to make it from multiple sources, its easier to build traffic, it's easier to explore and not get raped, it's all around easier in adult. It's easier to promote your program/products in adult, to adult affiliates than it is to mainstream affiliates. It's easier to get those affiliates to try new sites and products. The difference is when you find something that makes money in mainstream, it has a bigger chance of making a lot more money - at the affiliate level for sure. Anyone wanting to go mainstream I would truly start with yourself. Brand 'you', your name.. be super friendly/helpful, well before you try to sell, build a following around 'you' and when it comes time to sell them, it will be way easier to move them around, do giveaways, and give you social/viral bumps when asked. |

That said, I have dabbled in mainstream on and off over the years. I am actually looking to move up a few plans that have been on the back burner and test the water some more in 2010 to see how things go. |

If you think adult is full of scammers and low lifes. You have not seen nothing until you have played in the mainstream boards, and markets for a few years. Some of the people are relentless and ruthless beyond anything I have seen in adult.... |

chasing the same adsense pennies? if you think that the bulk of money in mainstream is in promoting adsense you're a bigger idiot than i initially thought you were.

Hence the remark about 'pennies'. :disgust |
3d movies and 3d home cinema is the road i follow besides porn.

Most of my work is mainstream at this point. When I noticed things going downhill a few years back I decided to go more mainstream instead of coming up with something new in adult.
|
Do any mainstream companies give you the opportunity to sell like a retailer? They all feel scammy.
|
I've tried several times over the last couple of years and failed...
|
100 percent adult here. Dont plan on changing anytime soon either.
Its too bad people dont go into more detail other then "mainstream". Atleast a few people mentioned niches which is really cool. |

Thanks for the honesty. You are such a driven mofo, I can't see you failing when you go at something 100% but I suppose it can happen. |

As most people know, who've been doing this a few years anyway, you can give someone the exact blue print of everything you are doing, and they can still fail (or do better). There is always something missing. Whether it is the drive, consistency or endless other things in the equation. |
What are some of the popular mainstream webmaster boards?
I wouldnt mind having a look see. :) |

wickedfire digitalpoint IQ69 ...to name a few. However, get your waders on. You're gonna need em. I can assure you that you will have a new found appreciation for the adult industry after you have spent some time reading and researching on mainstream boards. |

I can kindof understand that but hell just mentioning your general niche and even type of site probably wont make 2 shits on an adult board. Probably 1000 other people doing it anyway. :) It seems like adult webmasters are pretty open to what they are doing, but when it comes to mainstream they all of a sudden put a huge guard up. |
