Sponsors are looking to maximize profits as much as affiliates, so you can't really blame them for upselling. My suggestion for you would be to start your own paysite(s) and funnel your traffic to those. I believe it's fairly cheap to get a CCBILL site up and running these days. And content has never been cheaper.

You want 50 or 70 percent of the sale maybe more if a webmaster referred you and that leaves the company with say 20 - 40% and they have to pay for hosting, advertising, staff, new content, updates and lord knows what else. Having upsales have nothing to do if someone rebills or not. If they dont rebill it is because they have had enough or the sites content sucks. Having banners have nothing to do with it.

20 - 40% is plenty in bulk. Sponsors could pay out 100% of revenue generated by affiliates and still come out ahead without cross sales and other garbage.

On revshare? No way.

You can do soft upsells with out being intrusive and bothering the member.

My Aggressive Pass network is clean.

No cross sales, no up sells, no outside links, nothing, nada, anywhere, inside or out, period.

Yes, since an epic shit ton of sales come in because of affiliates that aren't credited to affiliates. Decent sized programs make millions a year on 'lost' referrals of some kind. Paying 100% of profit is well worth it if you can swing the initial outlay which is fuck all these days.

You make it sound like its a smart thing. Cross sales have no impact on ratios and upsells have no impact on rebills, they just make more money. I tried both, on lots of sales, no difference, so doing it without is like saying no to free money. And that isn't smart.

I know more than one person that will pay for porn but will not hit submit if there is a cross sale anywhere. It might not affect you much but I would bet your affiliates don't feel the same way.

There are absolutely ZERO upsells, cross-sells, or ANY kinda "selling" that occurs within the Member's Areas of Mister Peabody World, a CCBill affiliate program (PeabodyCash, please see sig).

I worked for a Chevrolet dealership also, and after I sold them a unit I never tried to send them to a Ford dealership to buy another unit.

I wanted them to stay with me and when it came time for the customer to buy again I wanted him to come back to me.

My affiliates don't have to worry about any traffic leaks.

Most affiliates feel way more comfortable sending their traffic to a sponsor with no leaks.

Again we are talking revshare.

So you might make more per membership with upsells. But I might attract more affiliates/traffic and make more memberships by not having leaks.

A banner here or there or a link to webcams is not a big deal. An "upsell" is a choice, it's not forcing them.

You guys are missing out on free money. It doesn't bother you members so long as you dont blast them with crap. A soft sell is all you need. 1 - 2 banners that are relevant to your site.

Given the current times, I want to come back and see how many are still in business from this thread, in 18 months.

I don't think I'm great, but I always tried more things to compare, I don't talk about stuff I never tested in real life. How can you say cross sales are bad if you didn't use them? You can't.

And yes, I make more nowadays, I don't understand how its possible, too. Probably because of lower costs, hosting is almost free nowadays, traffic on some sites is much cheaper than it used to be, too. Fewer people in adult make it easier to make more money.
