I realize that because most if not all politicians are scum (probably including this guy), people are constantly on the lookout for signs of their shittiness, but at what point does it go into getting down on people for having unusual hobbies (which many many people have) and being human? It only furthers the notion that the most politically-correct candidate has the best chance of winning, which is why the system is fucked up. The people who can act most perfect win office, and usually the people who do that well are con artists/scammers.

I think the whole episode is more a reflection of the hypocracy of the TeaBaggers. They has basically racist assholes who thought the world was groovy until a half black was elected POTUS and then go on the rampage of saying he is a Facist, Socialist, ... Now one of em is stupid enough to not try and scrub his website and let his opponent in the race can't find a pic of him smiling like a shit eating dog in a Nazi uniform. No one would be having as much to say of it if he was in a Johnny Reb Outfit, or KKK hood cuz everyone knows they are racist assholes but a NAZI uniform. It is 100% his right to dress like that. Personally it doesn't bother me. It takes a lot to offend me. However, if you are running for public office and you decide to do something that could be seen as offensive by some, you have to expect that they may speak out about it. After all, it is just as much their right to tell you they didn't like your costume/actions as it is yours to do/wear them.

But there is some truth in his assertion that at least some foreign SS (military) volunteers were (so they believed) fighting for the freedom of their own countries. If you haven't done so already, read up on what life was like Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania between August of 1940 and June of 1941 and you'll appreciate why those people were ready to do a deal with Satan himself if it meant preventing Stalin from coming back.

That sounds like too much work. Ill just call them racist. It is easier that way.

If you had read up on what the SS and Einsatzgruppe A did in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania then you would understand how truly disgusting his comments are. "Freedom Fighters" do not murder woman and children in the thousands just because they happen to be Jewish or Roma.

Yep, all Jews were killed by Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania Waffen SS troops BEFORE Germans came there. As far as I know, German Nazi were very surprised by the fact that there are no Jews to left to kill.

All 3 mentioned above Baltic countries are very proud with their Nazi SS "freedom fighters". They still have Waffen SS veteran parades. All former Nazi are ci\onsidered as national heroes there.

I think what you may not get is that the Nazi's were not the only army to do that.

Actually I wasn't right when I said that the EU is proud to be in a same union with Nazi countries. It's the EU people who is ok to be in a same union with Nazi. Why? Because:

1) you are believe that the EU is democracy, right?
2) you know what democracy means (if not, you can find the definition of this word in any explanatory dictionary);
3) the EU has accepted Nazi Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania w/o any problems, so it's ok with OFFICIAL Nazi parades, Waffen SS monuments and other Nazi shit there, right?

So (1)+(2)+(3) => the EU people is ok with Nazi. Period.

Where in the post does it say anything about protesting? Don't try and outdo the demon and make shit up. What I said is that is hypocitcal to call people Facist/ Socialist, etc and then go act them.

Sadly this is true. Every year veterans of the Latvian Waffen-SS march in Riga to cheering crowds. :( The march takes place on March 16 and is an official holiday in Latvia called "Latvia Legions Day".

I hope you won't agree that it's not the same thing as ILLEGAL Nazi actions in Russia or... say in Germany. The EU is ok with Nazi shit because it does nothing to stop it in Baltic countries. These guys are more worried about gay parades because everything else doesn't matter.
