There are many ways to approach this and it was kind of you to write a guide such as this one.
However, I might add that plugins such as UW (ultimate warrior) require some set up. I.E. You do NOT just activate them from plugins. You also go to the options for that particular plugin and configure them. They don't just automatically configure themselves and do their magic without assistance.
I start new blogs off with several posts a day (yes I do ping- ping is good and I use a ping plugin called pingfix) I also use another couple of plugins to optimize them for the SE.
I use permalinks because SE's love them. I also use a social plugin called share this. It will permit you to display icons for social bookmarking sites under each post and even an email to a friend icon. Social Bookmarking is very good! It is your friend.
Research your keywords. There is a program called good keyword (google it). That will assist you much.
Feedwordpress is ok but tends to be overwhelming for a new person to install. I use Katkusan's Blog Organizer (google it). I have found it has paid for itself over and over again and there is plenty of support for it.
RSS feeds. I use them on some blogs and not on others. I quit having any blog purely rss fed. Instead I mix my own there if there I use any rss at all ...but whatever, there are many styles of blogging.
Feedburner and pinging. Yes do both.
Writing for SEs, well you do have two audiences there the surfer and the SEs don't lose sight of either. You can produce a jumble of keyword rich posts but you will lose your surfer (if he is a reader) quickly.
Content. You at least pointed you the newbie to a decent set of sponsors. However I add these words of caution. Words can impress a surfer they can look pretty to search engines but if your don't have some freaking decent content no amount of words will convince the surfer that ugly girl looks pretty or that blurry 3 second movie from a paysite makes the paysite attractive. So choose your sponsors wisely and well and LOOK at the content you are posting if it is teens and she looks 30 you are not going to sell except to the blind.
Backlinks while obtaining those coveted backlinks make sure you have a link checker of some type. Sadly experience has taught me that they are not maintained by many individuals. So unless your trade partner is a close friend or a respected directory check the links often.
I might also add that though I am under 30 posts I don't put aff codes in any responses because they tend to have more weight (in my mind) if recommended sincerely.
