Oh yeah, you've got to be careful with low dose thyroid hormone because like I said above, it will suppress your TSH (lowering natural output) and then you're basically supplying what you're preventing from being produced. And since most docs rely on TSH as the indicator of thyroid function, they'll say you're fine even if you tell them you feel the same.
I suffered for almost 2 years thanks to shitty doctors. I could hardly think straight, always tired & in a fog... reading comprehension was awful, I had to re-read things over and over because I'd lose focus in the middle of a paragraph. It absolutely killed my motivation too... made me anti-social as hell, I never wanted to do anything but stay home.
