Happier than in modern Germany? I can't believe, really. Everything is changing, and the life gets more comfortable since the time passes. All these small things we have now (mobiles, internet etc) change our life much more dramatic than political regimes. I would prefer to live somewhere in the modern "communistic" Chinese city (e.g. Honkong, Shanghai or even Beijing) now rather than in "free and democratic" Berlin or Hamburg of 1980's
