The Swiss Court's ruling might very well be applied toward anti-gay or nationalistic speech in demonization of another nation in prelude to hostilities or warfare.

The fact that this ruling is about antisemitism perhaps arouses the wrong emotions -- the subject matter should not be specific and limiting. Europe has their recent Nazi past to live with and that is what was probably behind the Swiss Court's ruling.

For those of you that think that free speech is absolute, that is a childish as reciting:
''Sticks and stones will break my bones
But words will never harm me."
Tell that to victims of genocide; Jews, Armenians, Tutsi and many others.
You may be true, but let me reverse your question. what real demage is caused by few people's unacceptable opinion? won't make any difference. society has to keep those people in quarantine, not the authorities. and i smell the stench of double standards here. telling hateful things about jewish people is strictly persecuted, while no one gives a shit about other minorities in this level.
