Not true, a lot of adult talent can act, and some very well. Proof check out several French films which have used Adult performers and "Game of Thrones" has adult performers matching professional actors.
The problem is budget for time and crew.
You need time to rehearse the actors, time to light the scene, to work out camera moves, to get good sound, to do several takes, you need good make up, hair dressers and art dept.
You need to freedom to shoot a few great minutes a day as opposed to shooting an hour a day of routine porn.
and at the end of that people pay the same as gonzo shot in a hotel room with a hooker.
