Finals were quickly approaching and a student approached his teacher with an offer:

I will give you a week to research and then answer my question and if you can, I’ll take an F as my grade but if you can’t, I get to skip taking the final exam and you give me an A

The teacher agreed.

The boy asked: “What is ethical but not logical, logical but not ethical & neither ethical nor logical?”

The teacher thought about it for hours & even pondered through the night but still no answer and even after a week of research he had to finally give up as he really did not know.

He gave the boy his “A” Grade.

The following day, the teacher asked the same question to his other students.

He was shocked when all of them raised their hands.

He asked one of the student.

He answered: “Sir, you are 65, married to 23 yrs old woman; this is ethical but not logical.

Your wife, is having an affair with a 16 year old boy, this is logical but not ethical.

Your wife’s boyfriend gets to skip taking his finals & yet you have given him an “A” Grade, This is neither logical nor ethical.”

The Teacher collapsed…

Legal can't be an option as it fails the question in at least 1 of the circumstances given.. ie Giving an unearned grade to a student isn't illegal
