The problem is the people who run the networks are too scared of trying something new, innovation and finding good writers. Watching Pure at the moment. It's a one series idea. what I see is every long term show start's eating it's self, in other words the writers have such limited experience they always turn the characters against each other rather than having the creativity to continue with episodic stories that resolve.
